Should projects tie for most unique donors, ranking will be determined by most funds raised during the campaign.
The winning six (6) projects will receive a share of the GlobalGiving Girl Fund for a specified time period following the campaign (April 1 - December 31 2017).
During the two-week fundraising campaign, from March 1 through March 15, participating projects will work to mobilize donors and raise funds with the goal of being in the top four (4) positions and thus selected for the GlobalGiving Girl Fund.
During the two-week effectiveness cycle voting period, from March 15 through March 29, effectiveness cycles will be reviewed by the Girl Fund panel and peers and thus selected for the GlobalGiving Girl Fund based upon: identification of a specific need, challenge, or obstacle in your community; explaination how feedback from participants and/or the local community was used to find a solution to the need, challenge, or obstacle; and clarity.
Donations made in other currencies will be converted to USD. The exchange rate will be estimated at the time of the donation, but may be subject to change until the donation settles with the donor's bank or credit card. Tax Efficient Giving & Fulfillment Fee
GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit charity in the United States and England and Wales. Donations made by eligible donors in the United States can be claimed as tax deductible contributions on United States tax returns. Donations made by eligible donors in the United Kingdom can claim Gift Aid (an extra 25% added to eligible donations by the UK Government) when they donate in GBP.
Fulfillment fee for donations: GlobalGiving charges a 15% fulfillment fee on donations, unless other conditions apply. GlobalGiving works to keep the fees you pay as low as possible while providing you great services and resources. The fee covers all transactional charges such as credit card fees, as well as helps cover the costs we incur to promote organizations and projects, provide them with fundraising training and tools, and maintain and improve our online technology in order to keep you connecting with new donors. With our add-on option, we also offer the donor the opportunity to make an additional donation to cover the fee.
GlobalGiving believes every girl deserves a chance to realize her full potential. Not just because she deserves to thrive, but because when she succeeds so does her family, her friends, her community, and the world. Today, in too many moments, in too many parts of the world, there aren't opportunities for women and girls to learn, contribute, and thrive. But we have good news- our nonprofits partners are the best in the business at helping women and girls do just that- thrive.
That's why we started the GlobalGiving Girl Fund. So we could provide ongoing support to projects that are dedicated to increasing opportunities and improving lives for women and girls around the world. And then, there is you. This invaluable support is fueled by millions of individuals just like you that believe in the same undeniable truth. That every girl deserves a chance to realize her full potential. Let's get to work!
The GlobalGiving Girl Fund Campaign is an opportunity for projects dedicated to women and girls to gain support and funding and to compete for a chance to earn a spot in the GlobalGiving Girl Fund for all of 2017. The two-week campaign will run from March 1, 2017 - March 15, 2017 with a matching day on March 8, 2017 to celebrate International Women's Day. In the end, six spots in the Girl Fund will be awarded to the four projects who mobilized the most donors in the campaign and the two projects who best demonstrated the best quality of work, as determined by their peers.
