The 2016 Year-End Accelerator Bonus Day will be on #GivingTuesday and will run for the first 24 hours of the crowdfunding campaign. On this day, eligible online donations (of $25 to $1,000 USD per donor per project) will be matched at 20% by GlobalGiving while funds from a $10,000 USD matching grant remain. There will also be two $1,000 USD prizes for the projects that raise the most funds and bring in the most donors on Bonus Day.
Accelerator participants are organizations registered as charitable and nonprofit organizations in the US (501(c)3 organizations) or internationally, working in local communities, who have expressed interest in posting their projects on GlobalGiving's site. All organizations must complete a rigorous application process to qualify for the Accelerator.
On November 29, 2016, from 00:00:01 to 23:59:59 EST, $10,000 of matching funds will be released. Any online, unique donation (above $25 and up to $1,000 per individual donor per project) to a project participating in the 2016 Year-End Accelerator will be matched at 20% while matching funds remain.
Once the $10,000 in matching funds has been allocated, no more donations will be matched. The leaderboard will display how many funds remain.
Donations will be matched based on the order in which they are received.
Only donations of $25 or more, up to $1,000 per donor per project, will be matched
Donations below $25 will be counted on the Main Leaderboard, but will not be reflected on the leaderboard below and will not be matched or counted for the bonus prizes. These donations will count towards the $5,000 and 40 donor thresholds.
The project with the most funds raised from 00:00:01 to 23:59:59 EST on Bonus Day will receive an additional $1,000.
The project with the most unique donors from 00:00:01 to 23:59:59 EST on Bonus Day will receive an additional $1,000.
Cash donations will not be accepted.
Text-to-give donations are not counted towards Accelerator totals.

With our add-on option, we also offer the donor the opportunity to make an additional donation to cover the fee so that you receive the intended amount.
