America's Giving Challenge has started! Have you set up your fundraiser? Check out the GGConnect Page for more information on the Challenge, FAQs and tips. And check out the video below to learn more about this incredible opportunity.
A fundraiser is a special webpage dedicated to your project. All you need to do is direct your supporters to your fundraiser—the four fundraisers that get the highest number of individual donations will get $50,000. Please note that it is the number of unique individual donors that matters, NOT the donation amount.
Use the communications tools that work best for you—email, blogs, web pages, social networks, or charity badges—to mobilize friends and supporters and encourage them to give to your fundraiser! Go to GGConnect and find suggested copy you can use to direct people to your fundraiser.
Setting up a fundraiser is super easy!
Hurry: The first 20 projects to mobilize at least 20 donors to give to their fundraiser by December 31 will have their America's Giving Challenge funds matched up to $1,000.
We'll keep you updated on which fundraisers are in the lead. Several of the GlobalGiving fundraisers have already gotten off to a great start—Click on each widget below to see what these fundraisers are doing.
NOTE: If your organization is a 501(c)3, you can set up your America's Giving Challenge fundraiser through GlobalGiving or Network for Good (NFG), another of the partners participating in the Challenge. However, since NFG has more than 1.5 million 501(c)3 organizations in its database, and only ~400 causes are listed on GlobalGiving's site, the odds of getting the $50,000 are much better if you set up your fundraiser through GlobalGiving!
Again, this is an opportunity of a lifetime. Please contact me if you have questions.
