Whether you use GlobalGiving to fund scholarships in India, plant trees in the
rainforests of Costa Rica, support disaster relief efforts in the United States,
or raise funds for your own community, you expect your information to remain secure
and private.
To ensure that we’re being good stewards of your data, we’ve conducted an annual
privacy review and are making some important updates to our privacy policy which
take effect today. I encourage you to review these changes:
-
Privacy Policy: Our Privacy Policy has been updated to clarify several uses
of data and to outline a new data transfer and model clause agreement between GlobalGiving
and GlobalGiving UK that is relevant if you live in the European Economic Area.
As before, the Privacy Policy outlines how we use your information to provide the
best giving experience possible, including your choices, rights, and controls of
your personal information.
-
Cookie Policy: The Cookie Policy has been updated to reflect new third-party
services that GlobalGiving will utilize to improve your experiences, including
what cookies we use, what data third-parties collect, and your choices regarding
cookies.
Since so many people liked the recipe that we sent with last year’s privacy +
cookie policy, this year I’d like to share my recipe for
Peanut Butter Monster Cookies—they are a delicious snack to enjoy while reviewing
our updated policies. (And based on your feedback, I’m also pleased to share a
great vegan, gluten-free option!)
The next time you agree to the use of cookies on a website, remember that these
policies contain important information about your rights and privacy, and if you’re
lucky, another delicious recipe.
Warm regards,
Kevin Conroy
