Discover how bottle tops and bread tags became a new wheelchair for Ofentse

The sweethearts Foundation has a singular mission: to provide wheelchairs to South Africans who need them.

Due to long waiting lists for government assistance, thousands of South Africans in need of wheelchairs remain bedridden, relying on family to carry them or turning to unsafe and uncomfortable homemade alternatives.

In their grand-prize winning entry in this year's GlobalGiving Video Contest, the sweethearts Foundation shows how they've turned everyday plastic items, like bottle tops and bread tags, into life-changing wheelchairs for 17-year-old Ofentse and more than 180 others like her across South Africa.
