fundraisers volunteer in-the-field ways to help from home

Why join GlobalGiving's In-the-Field?

For the Impact

Over the past years, our Field Interns have visited more than 30 countries spanning five continents. We have trekked out to the remote ends of the Amazon and the foothills of the Himalayas to visit our partners and learn more about their work. Field Interns have conducted online fundraising workshops and helped grassroots organizations build their fundraising capacity. And it's working! Organizations that have been visited by GlobalGiving Field Interns have raised more money than those that have not been visited.

For the Adventure

The In-the-Field program allows you to craft your own one-of-a-kind experience. Plan your own itinerary to visit different projects and non-profit partners over a few months. Experience the amazing work of global change-makers firsthand. And when you're done "working," explore the sites! Our Field Interns have hiked to Machu Pichu, rappelled down a waterfall in Uganda, explored the Iyuni salt flats, relaxed on the beaches of Southeast Asia, played with Cameroonian chimpanzees and admired Spanish architecture. No adventure is the same, but it will change your life.

For your Professional Development

Participants in the In-the-Field Program gain management and problem-solving skills. You will have the opportunity to travel and live independently, preparing you for life's next steps. Become an expert in online fundraising and train project leaders on topics ranging from building donor networks to using social media platforms. Gain experience in fieldwork logistics and learn how international organizations engage with their local communities and manage staff, time, and finances. Learn how GlobalGiving monitors and evaluates organizations and manages relationships with more than 1,500 organizations worldwide. It's a whole lot of relevant experience to jumpstart your career in international development!
