The burden of Hepatitis B infection in Uganda is very big! In Mid-western Uganda-the project area, the infections is at 10% more than HIV/AIDS -7.3% and is becoming chronic, by the age of 15–19 years, 40% of youth in Uganda have already been exposed to the hepatitis B virus, leading to increased risk of developing liver failure, liver cancer or cirrhosis — a condition that causes permanent scarring of the liver. This project aims at preventing Hepatitis B infections among the community members
