Children with disability face particular difficulties of Mobility to access basic social services such as education and health care. Mobility Aids such as wheel chairs, Tri-cycles and crutches are needed to enable these children undertake education or training and access health care amenities such as school, health centers: this equipment is consequently beyond the reach of people with disability and families on a low income. The government of Uganda has many competing demands and there is no support to meet the mobility needs of many people with disabilities. In order to address this problem HODASSU intends to run a workshop to locally make wheel chairs, tri-cycles and crutches. The workshop is to be situated in Jinja town to serve the disability population in Eastern Uganda. There is no such a facility in Eastern Uganda, therefore if the project becomes a really it will be of a great service to people with disability. The workshop will also make repairs of wheel chairs and tri-cycle for those who own some and have nowhere to take them for repairs. And it will be of a great valve for our crippled beneficiaries who are training in welding to also be able learn and to get experience from this workshop of how to make these, wheel chairs, tri-cycles and catches that their prices will be a bit low then the one on the local market now. And since they are the target group, Hodassu will run it for two years to make sure everything is going on well as expected, than will have to let it out to the beneficiaries to run and own this workshop for mobility aid production that will access their friend have easy mobility aid movement products at a lowest price affordable to them.
