Freedom Then/Freedom Now
A Fundraiser by Illinois College Freedom Then/Freedom Now

Founded by Edward Beecher (brother of Harriet Beecher Stowe), Illinois College was at the forefront of the anti-slavery movement in the 19th century. This rich history and our college mission of justice and human rights calls us to be such leaders in the global anti-slavery movement of this century. The project, Freedom Then/Freedom Now, will raise awareness of this issue and recruit Illinois College “Freedom Partners” from among the community to raise money to free slaves.
