I have a physical handicap and was subjected to severe bullying growing up. This lead to developing anorexia nervosa. I restricted my eating, and ended up being hospitalised. During hospitalization, I experienced the stigma of eating disorders being a female disease. Today, recovered, I aspire to become a registered dietician within eating disorders. I want to use my experience to an advantage. I feel that patients having a dietician that can relate will increase the patient's comfort-level.
