Pakistan has suffered from one of the worst natural disasters in its history. The estimate of 20 million people affected is more than the combined total of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
Diseases pose a new threat to Pakistan’s flood crisis. Acute watery diarrhea is on the rise but there is limited access to some of the areas. There are reports of outbreaks of cholera among the survivors of monsoon flooding.
