The village of Kipingi is suffering from an acute shortage of potable water. A single hand pump is the only clean water source servicing a community of 1,500 people over 5 square kilometers. The community wishes to sink a borehole to reach clean groundwater. A hydrogeological survey has already been completed and predicts that an aquifer will be found at a depth of approximately 100 meters. A pump and water storage tank is also needed to supply water to approximately 50 homesteads.
