GlobalGiving’s Year-End Campaign begins at 00:00:00 ET on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, and ends at 23:59:59 ET on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019.
Organization Eligibility: Active Partner, Leader, and Superstar organizations, with the exception of Indian-banked organizations, are eligible to participate in the Year-End Campaign. Emerging organizations and GlobalGiving-sponsored projects and funds are also ineligible to participate in this campaign.
Project Eligibility: Active projects and microprojects of eligible organizations will be automatically included. New projects must be meet the submission deadline. Microprojects that expire during the campaign will not be extended past the 90 day time period.
Submission Deadline: The deadline for submitting new projects to be included in the Year-End Campaign is Tuesday Nov. 26, at 17:00:00 ET.
Throughout the campaign, approvals of project reports, project edits, and project appeals will take 1-3 business days to process. Please allow GlobalGiving the maximum time to to put your team and ours in a good position to succeed during the busiest season of the year.
Campaign Incentives
Overall Bonus Prizes totaling $12,000 will be awarded at the conclusion of the campaign to the top project(s) in each of the following categories:
Most Funds Raised: In ascending order, the top three projects that raise the most funds in the Year-End Campaign will receive Bonus Prizes of $4,000, $2,000, and $1,000.
Most Unique Donors: In ascending order, the top six projects with the most unique donors will receive Bonus Prizes of $2,000, $1,000, $800, $600, $400, and $200.
Note: Bonus prizes are awarded at the project level and organizations can only win one bonus prize per category above.
Note: Projects must raise at least $3,000 from a minimum of 30 donors to qualify for a bonus award.
GlobalGiving Certificate: All projects that secure at least 25 unique donors in the 2019 Year-End Campaign will be awarded a GlobalGiving certificate in January commemorating fundraising success.
Homepage Time: Throughout the campaign, two slots on the GlobalGiving homepage will be reserved for the top two crowdfunding projects.
Unique donors are determined using criteria including but not limited to name, email address, credit card number, mailing address, and IP address. We monitor these and other parameters in our system to ensure that only distinct donors are counted.
GlobalGiving will monitor and review all donations made throughout the Year-End Campaign.
GlobalGiving reserves the right to make final decisions on all matters concerning the allocation of bonus awards.
Donation Eligibility
Eligibility Payment Methods: Online donations (credit card, debit card, PayPal, ApplePay, and individually-purchased GlobalGiving gift cards), mobile donations through M-Changa, checks, and wire transfers will count towards your total raised in the Year-End Campaign.
Online donations must be made by the account or credit card holder.
Checks and wire transfers sent to GlobalGiving’s London office must be received by Friday, Dec. 20, 2019.
Checks and wire transfers sent to GlobalGiving’s Washington, DC, office must be received by Friday, Dec. 20, 2019.
Check and wire transfers must include the correct project ID to get assigned to your project and count in the Year-End Campaign.
Ineligible Payment Methods: Cash, text-to-give donations, CAF check, CAF online, donations made by JustGiving, corporate gift cards, donations made on any other GlobalGiving corporate or organizational giving sites, or donations made directly to an organization rather than a project.
All donations are final. GlobalGiving cannot change the time, date, or status of a donation after it is processed for any reason.
Disbursements:
The exchange rate for donations made in currencies other than USD will be estimated at the time of the donation, but may be subject to change until the donation settles with the donor’s bank or credit card. Funds will be disbursed using the exchange rate based on the settlement value of each transaction.
Disbursements: Bonus Prizes won and funds raised through this campaign will go out in the usual disbursement monthly cycle.
Tax Efficient Giving & Fulfillment Fee
Tax Efficiency: GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit charity in the United States and England and Wales. Donations made by eligible donors in the United States can be claimed as tax deductible contributions on United States tax returns. Donations made by eligible donors in the United Kingdom can claim Gift Aid (an extra 25% added to eligible donations by the UK Government) when they donate in GBP.
Fulfillment Fee: GlobalGiving charges a minimal nonprofit support fee plus a 3% processing fee. For US and UK registered organizations the nonprofit support fee is 5%. Organizations outside the US and UK will be charged a 7% nonprofit support fee. During the Year-End Campaign, the fee only applies to the initial donation and not to prize funds earned. The fee helps cover the costs we incur to promote your organization and projects, to provide you with fundraising training and tools, and to maintain and improve our online technology in order to keep you connecting with new donors.
