Your free gift when you donate $49 to: Provide Music Classes for Children in Nepal
Donate $49 or more and receive a beautiful hand-carved pendant. Each of these beautiful pendants is hand-carved from yak bone in Nepal. The yak is a long-haired animal native to the upper region of the Himalayas. It is the only animal that can withstand the harsh climate of the region, and the people who live there have relied on the yak for thousands of years to survive. When a yak dies, the people honor it by making carvings from its bones. This type of pendant is considered an amulet, or "good luck charm" the pendants measure 1"x1" on jute chord that adjust from 15" to 25". There are 3 designs created exclusively for Playing For Change. Each is carved by hand and then taken to a local monastery to be blessed. Your donation for this special gift will support vital musical education at an orphanage in Kathmandu. We hope that you will feel the love and rich history of the Nepali people that is carved into each pendant, just as the students and teachers of the Mitrata Nepal Music Program will feel the support and generosity of your gift. Namaste!
