• Location: Portland
  • Occupation: Director at GlobalRoots.org
  • My Passions: It is my passion to empower local people who have taken it on themselves to help children in need. I believe that aid is best distributed when local people are involved. The local people I work with must be proven humanitarians -- not flashy talkers!
  • About My Inner Philanthropist (why I give): I held a starving baby in India when I was a young man. I was totally ignorant about the daily struggles of most people on the planet at that time. In 2001 I met a woman who has rescued and adopted over 250 orphans in Tibet. Nothing would ever be the same for me. The woman became my mentor and inspired me to create GlobalRoots.org -- a children's charity that helps local people see to the needs of local children in war or famine ravaged places.
