Though we are grateful for all the other cat rescue organizations that save adoptable cats from being euthanized, the cats that have minor injuries or illnesses are often passed by. They are considered unadoptable. Not so with New Beginnings Cat Rescue. When the local animal shelter determines the condition of a cat is medically treatable, they know they can call upon NBCR.

So it was with this handsome yellow tabby named Link. Link was dropped off at the animal shelter with injuries that appeared to be from an attack by a larger animal. He just needed medical treatment and time to heal in a safe environment. As you can see in the photos, he has made remarkable improvement and is now considered Adoptable.

Thank you for your donations. Because you give to New Beginnings Cat Rescue, these last chance kitties can live a long happy life.

He's not heavy, he's my brother!

Hayworth
Hayworth

When Hayworth aka Stumpy and his sister Sutton aka Siamesy were rescued, little Hayworth was about a third of the size of Sutton. His coat was dry, his fur was thin and he was missing the better part of his front left paw.

Sutton was very protective of her injured brother and wouldn’t let anyone get close to him. After a good Samaritan captured Hayworth, Sutton allowed herself to be captured too. She wanted to be with her brother no matter what situation he was in.

While we aren’t sure what happened to Hayworth’s leg, it has healed nicely and doesn’t seem to bother him. He runs and plays and jumps just like any other kitten would do and it doesn’t slow him down when he wants to playfully attack his sister.

Both Kittens are doing well. Hayworth’s coat is soft and thick and he is now almost as big as his sister. These two kittens are so sweet and gentle and so happy to be alive and safe. Just last weekend, they were adopted together and are doing very well in their new home. Thank you for donating to New Beginnings Cat Rescue. Because you give, more cats can be rescued so they, like Hayworth and Sutton, will not have to suffer from hunger or live out in the cold this winter.

The Brady Bunch

Brady Bunch
Brady Bunch

The day the plea for help came from our local animal shelter about a mother cat and babies, a volunteer went right over to the animal shelter as, in every rescue time is of the essence. One look at the little family and they were named “The Brady Bunch”. There was Carol, the mother with Greg, Marsha, Peter, Jan and Cindy.

What began as a routine rescue to save this Mom and her newborn kittens from being euthanized led to one of the kitten's fight for survival.

The momma cat, Carol, was so very thin and malnourished which prevented her from producing enough milk to feed all of the Brady kittens. The very determined foster parent stepped up to supplement their nutrition by bottle feeding all five kittens. All of the kittens became stronger and healthier, except for Jan, who grew weaker with no interest in food. The foster parent never gave up hope, taking Jan to the Emergency Room and veterinarian’s office multiple times to ensure she was doing everything she could to help Jan. Finally, after 4 days, little Jan began to improve.

As you can see in the video, Jan is one happy, healthy little girl. She already has her new family wrapped around her little paw. In fact, not only has Jan been adopted, her mom and siblings have all found a home too; except for Greg, but he will find his forever family very soon.

Because of your donations to New Beginnings Cat Rescue, we can continue to rescue kittens like Jan, who just need a compassionate foster parent, rescue friendly veterinarians, time to heal and your financial contribution. Thank you for your support.
