In order to achieve this, The Futures Project is championing a novel approach that brings together values-based visions for the futures of mankind and planet and the innovative ideas to realise them. We aim to change the global dialogue about innovation and the future, making it inclusive, holistic, and systemic. The Futures Project exists at the centre of a cycle of reflection and action, bringing people from all sectors and all backgrounds together in a continuous feedback loop of thinking and doing. The role of the Futures Project is to ensure that reflection and action occur in unison, with values and the real needs of people and planet driving social and technological innovation. Technology is advancing at an unprecedented rate, but too often, it is seen as an end in itself, rather than as a tool to help solve problems. Too frequently, it is not designed or deployed with a societal vision in mind, and its development fails to consider the voices and needs of stakeholders and communities that aren't typically heard but should be included in the problem-solving and solution design process. Furthermore, definitions of innovation often tend to be narrow, failing to consider that innovative thinking doesn't always mean new, flashy, high-tech, or digital, but that innovation can have many forms and shapes. The world's most pressing challenges demand a new way of thinking-a holistic approach that systematically asks: what are the futures we want, and how can innovation and technology help us realise them? Through programs that support and train social innovators to achieve greater impact, research, and a boundary-spanning approach, The Futures Project brings people together across borders and sectors to create shared visions for the future and facilitates the action and innovation that bring these visions to life. Ultimately, we want to create and support a community of systems change-makers across sectors, geographies and generations.
