Just like health, material & rights deprivation, social exclusion is 1 of the 8 poverty dimensions ... (2019 poverty report by "Secours Catholique"). A real modern issue when you know that 65% of "poor" people are living in urban cities. How to live & thrive when you are cut off from the rest of the society? "A man who is socially excluded is both vulnerable to the future & overwhelmed by the lack of consideration from peers". (Serge PAUGAM). Be heard, create social ties, help each other: as our society does not offer to everyone an answer to these aspirations, each month hundreds of thousands of people push the doors of both our digital and physical trusted spaces. Why? Because our aim is to efficiently fight social exclusion, loneliness, & poverty by promoting social cooperation thanks to our inclusive & socially responsible spaces. 2. WHOLE PROJECT BRIEF DESCRIPTION But What is Wanted Community? "Wanted" is a 1 million members Community based on social cohesion, whose direct extension is the creation of socially responsible digital (localized Facebook's Groups) & physical (Wanted Cafes) trusted spaces. Our vision is to reinforce social ties between citizens to promote an organic & spontaneous emergence of mutual assistance tending towards a more inclusive and sustainable society. Please find hereafter a brief description of our trusted spaces: 1 => Wanted Facebook Groups: 86 localized Facebook groups, nearly 1 million members (Wanted Paris, Wanted Bordeaux etc...) carry out daily selfless & empathic actions ranging from mutual assistance to supporting people in precarity situation (meals, jobs, accommodation, etc...). Example: social patrols to provide social and food support to homeless in Paris (12K meals in 2019 & 18K meals in 2020) ... Video linked to our digital spaces (Facebook Groups) & our members social activities: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IItspKL94cM 2 => Wanted Cafes: New kind of socially responsible cafes-restaurants (1 in Bordeaux since September 2018 & 1 in Paris before the end of the year) seeking to strengthen local social ties & cohesion through simple actions: 2% of turnover refunded to local solidarity initiatives, sharing meals & coffees with people in needs etc. Examples: - 2% of turnover monthly refunded to local solidarity initiatives (8K in 2019), - meals & coffees offered to people in needs on a daily basis (7K in 2019), solidarity dinners, cultural inclusive events (100 in 2019) Video linked to our Wanted Cafe activity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8G1j79f8yA Video linked to solidarity dinners at Wanted Cafe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y3O9muXcWw The creation of trusted spaces, whether digital or physical is our way to support local social cohesion & encourage people to spontaneously help each other. Please find hereafter a video explaining all our project : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgnE1iIMRqs 3. OUR PROJECT STRUCTURING/ORGANIZATION Our whole project is managed by several organizations: => One For profit named Wanted Nation: management of our digital & physical spaces + brand partnerships (sponsoring) & membership program. => One Non-profit organization named "l'Amicale Wanted": management of all social initiatives as for example our social patrols + all our volunteers. We will provide more details between these 2 organization is the following section named "Please describe your relationship with the other organization". 4. REASON OF OUR APPLY: FOOD ASSISTANCE We applied to the GG Accelerator for our non-profit organization. Since more than 2 years thanks to the precious support of thousands of volunteers empowered through our Facebook Groups we have organized, prepared & distributed more than 10K meals (around 20K meals in total) per year to the people in needs in Paris. This activity is completely managed & supported by our non-profit organization "L'Amicale Wanted". Video linked to our usual food assistance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1KoQ8BJZIA&t=3s During the Covid19 and the lockdown we decided to create a collective (named RAliment) with other non-profit organization to accentuate the food assistance we were respectively already providing to homeless & refugees. Why? Because: => the number of people in needs was growing very fast (homeless, people in social hostel, refugees ) => "old" non-profit organisation & governmental social assistance were overwhelmed & suffering from a lack of volunteers (lot of people vulnerable to Covid19) => Covid crisis affected traditional food assistance network & thereby accentuated the isolation of people in precarity situation => we believe that we are stronger together & that we can achieve more together During the 3 months of lockdown, we have co-prepared 100K meals, saved 48 tons of food and involved more than 1000 volunteers. Our team & our non-profit organization has contributed to prepare 15 000 meals, saved 10 tons of food from garbage, involved almost 250 volunteers & sensitized to our social initiatives more than 200K Paris inhabitants. Short video linked to our food assistance during the lockdown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZQGX8rFuB0&t=1s It's to pursue our social initiative born during the Covid19 that we are applying to the Global Giving Accelerator. Why? because this is just the beginning of the economy crisis. More & more people in France will need food assistance. We are also trying to change French government vision of food assistance by saving food from garbage & transform it into delicious meals prepared by chefs & volunteers for people in precarity situation. Thanks to our action we are reducing food waste while providing food assistance to people in needs. Thanks to Global Giving support we hope leverage funds from our Community to reinforce & perpetuate our social action.
