The burden to reach out to about 78% of the Nigerian population which represent the informal sector who are not covered by NHIS and the desire to strengthen the system motivated Hezekiah Health Foundation in 2012 to establish community-based health association, in Emoriko and Okpudu, Agwodaba in kogi state, Orokamu in Benue state, Karu in Nassarawa state with the partnership and support of NHIS and Christian Connection for international towards achieving universal health care.
