Special recognition
Special recognition

Dear donors and supporters of the Múcura Award,

Our Múcura Award for 2020 came to an end, and we have published a post about results for this year 2020. It does include a special recognition for a kid of 10 years old in the municipality of Monguí, who has received from us a diploma, a special letter of recognition, prizes (donated by our current allies), and a memory souvenir.

Please check that post out here, and you may also wish to see a memory video we produced, from this link: https://youtu.be/G94Zc7KnZJw

Your support has contributted to facilitate the logistics this time, and we now look forward to having a new call for 2021 hopefully with many more participants.

Kind regards,

Felipe Velasco + Fundación Montecito

Mucura awd aims to youth attachment to wetlands

Dear donors and supporters,

Following a series of dialogues in previous weeks with some private companies and public institutions, we are happy to announce that prizes are ready for this first pilot of the Múcura Award for Wetland Conservation, the year 2020 call. Please have a look at those available awards, also to the list of our current supporters for the prizes on this first pilot.

We also want to report this recent, generous and comprehensive media article about the Mucura Award, which you can also navigate in a list of news that you might be willing to explore since we created the initiative.

Thank you so much for being our supporters of the Múcura Award through GlobalGiving, and let me kindly invite you to spread the word about this project with family and friends, aiming to strengthen our base to continue onto what is planned in the coming year.

Greetings from Fundación Montecito,

Starting-Up Offline, and a Complementary Initiative in Place

Dear donors and supporters,

On the one hand we want to share that, as it has been explained before, connectivity in our rural area for the SueTy project is scarce and, on top of that, limitations for a personal meeting with students is not being allowed by educational authorities... which means it is quite a struggle to move forward with our desired plans.

Nevertheless, our first booklet is ready for distribution to all the students of the Guaquira school, and they will be delivered in a few days from now in coordination with their teacher, Ms. M.Castro (video). Here is a copy-image of its content, as it will be received by each child (images attached below).

Soon after and once we get their homework back, we will deliver new booklets and tasks, aiming to gather enough feedback from them to prepare transmedia pieces using their sources by the end of this year, with which we will try to fulfill our project's objective, in the best possible manner provided the difficult circumstances.

On the other hand, we are feeling hopeful and greatful with project SueTy and with you all our supporters, since it has served us for inspiration to materialise a complementary initiative aimed to support children and youth for wetland conservation in rural areas of our region. It´s also partially motivated by the difficulties faced along this pandemic times, and we believe it represents a good answer to contribute on enriching alternatives for our rural children to continue pursuing capacities on nature conservation.

This is the Múcura Award for Wetland Conservation, which was just approved inside GlobalGiving for fundraising, please dive into it and consider sharing to your contacts or networks, aiming for support to prepare ourselves for next Mucura´s call for applications!—I truly hope you will like it: http://goto.gg/49365

And thank you once again, for being our project's supportive partners.

Warm regards,

Felipe Velasco + Fundación Montecito
