Working Together to Face Hunger

Ninos y Ninas de Xicotepec

After a difficult year for everyone, full of uncertainties, anguish and anxiety, We still can see the pain and suffering felt in the region, many families with their pride and dignity exhausted by the loss of jobs, some of their personal stories of fighting the pandemic are heartbreaking. That is why we know that we are all in this together to be able to move forward helping families face hunger.

We are more committed than ever to rescuing and distributing food for vulnerable people. It is very important to emphasize that only with everyone's participation, we have been able to provide food support in the state of Puebla and Tlaxcala during this difficult season, The food support during 2020 has been 234 320 people attended in 243 food pantries delivery points in Puebla.

To this day, sanitary measures are still active and people are asked to stay in their homes and only go out if absolutely necessary.
After the first three months of 2021 we see hope in the vaccination process to combat COVID_19, without a doubt one less problem for everyone; but the fight against hunger is something that we have been fighting for 25 years in the region, the coronavirus aggravated this situation, leaving 30% of the population in food poverty above the people who were already in this situation.

The photographic material that we share with you is from some families that receive food support in our facilities and others are from the state of Puebla as well as in the northern highlands.

Together we can make such a difference for people who need a helping hand.

Thank you,

The love of giving

We close the year 2020 with the kindness of having you through GlobalGiving. It was a very difficult year for everyone, but without your help we could not have made it. The demand for food support was considerably increased in the same proportion that families lost their jobs and their sources of income. During 2020 we provided support to more than 200,000 people and many of them had never had to ask for food assistance.

We are already in 2021 March,  COVID_19 has not disappeared and continues to wreak havoc around the world. We had  more than 25 years fighting hunger in the region and we have never has to face something like this for so long. The next few weeks and months will be extraordinarily difficult for thousands of our neighbors. Budgets that were already tight due to the pandemic become almost impossible with the addition of the extension of sanitary measures to prevent infections.

This problems can't be solved overnight, but I know that we are doing together  can make a difference for people who are to need our help to feed their families.

We are about to celebrate a year in GlobalGiving full of thanks from behalf of all the families who received food support thanks to you decided to believe in our project.

I want to use this opportunity through this report, first of all reiterating our gratitude and inviting you to celebrate this anniversary with us, from March 8-12, when you give up to $50 to support this project, GlobalGiving will match your generosity up to 50% for the #LittleByLittle campaign.

Thank you for making a commitment to help out during this difficult time.

The action of sharing

Comunidad de en Puebla Capital

Hello!

These times are difficult and challenging, but we know that we can get ahead with everyone's participation.
Despite the fact that most of the people returned to working life, many families still cannot be sure of having daily food in their homes.

The work we do allows us to help people who need it, but we are also the means for many people who have resources to share with the less fortunate.

The hunger pandemic already existed before the COVID-19 pandemic, the population we served with food support before COVID 19, is likely to increase by 35% in 2021.
Our work is far from over, but we believe that we have managed to move forward with the participation of a more humane society and more aware of its neighbor.

The pandemic has brought devastating hardships to so many people. Many members of our communities never expected to be in this position, struggling to put food on the table. With your help, we're doing our part to lighten their load, having served more than 500,000 food pantries this year.

Dear Friend thank you for reading this report, we invite you to share this project with you families and friends, we can do better when everybody participaties.

This december 1 is #GivingTuesday, GlobalGiving is giving out one million dollars to our community this #GivingTuesday, to help us, GlobalGiving will also be matching all new monthly donations at 200% for our Monthly Donor Drive, Dec. 14 - 18!

Banco de Alimentos Caritas Puebla is where anyone can turn in a time of need and where you can make a difference.
