While installing taps and toilets is essential to our work, we do so much more. We convince governments to change laws, link policy makers with people on the ground, pool knowledge and resources and rally support from people and organisations around the world, making lasting change happen on a massive scale. Our four strategic aims are all about working in partnership with government and other organisations towards the provision of sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene services that reach the world's poorest people around these four themes: Equality: Gender, age, caste, race, disability, poverty and location are among the many reasons why millions of poor people's rights to safe water, sanitation and hygiene are overlooked. We will tackle this inequality because we want to reach the people in greatest need. Sustainable services: When water points toilets break or simply do not exist, it's usually because the right systems are not in place. We will support governments and communities to work together to establish services because this is key to reaching everyone everywhere with water, sanitation and hygiene by 2030. Integration: Children's health, women's empowerment, education, nutrition and urban planning all rely upon safe water, sanitation and hygiene. We will work with partners in health, education, business and government to integrate these vital services into their own planning. Hygiene: Hand washing, safely storing water and food, keeping toilets clean and functional, can all reduce the spread of deadly diarrhea diseases. We will work with our partners in health and education to run hygiene programmes for millions of people, informing and inspiring them to stay safe.
