Children from Dasaripalem School

Dear Friends and supporters!

Thank you so much for your kind continuous support to this project! Very kind of you and grateful to you all!

I am very glad to submit a brief report of this project. Currently we are running 5 basic education centers through this project at Sundarayya Colony, KVP Colony, Dasaripalem, Siddhartha Stone crushers and Shalom agar, Edlapadu. 200 children are educating through these 5 centers. We are effectively running the centers with efficient staff include 7 teachers, 5 care takers along with me and two volunteers. Slowly we are improving facilities to the centers. Currently we are providing mid day meals in 3 centers about 150 children. The parents are very happy to send their children to the schools and feel safe and thought that their children get learning, educating and also get a meal. Actually before all the children are out of schools for long years without education and some children are dropouts. Now these children are very happily attending to the schools.

Some of the children are already promoted to further classes and the new academic year is already started from 11th of June 2012. We did not give summer holidays and from 1st May onwards we are running half day schools due to severe summer here as every day 45 Degrees Celsius temperature recorded. But children are likes to coming school and stay until afternoon. Some of the local government officials and education department people are regularly visiting these schools.

I humbly request you to kindly support this project and help the needy children with us in this new academic year 2012 to 13.

I am also gladly informing you that if we get 700 GBP for this project, will also publish in Global Giving USA also to avail more supporters help.

With all our good wishes

Greetings from BASS, India

Almost 200 out of school children are getting education through this project Educate 300 Displaced Children in India. Thank you somuch for every one who supporting this project.

We are effectively running 5 education centers in Guntur district with the support of you all. We are succeeded to get collaboration from the government of Andhra Pradesh under Rajiv Vidya Mission. Each centre 30 to 70 children are attending regularly. They get new life of education after many years out of schools. Each location is situated in the outskirts of the city where no development. This education centers are giving lots of hope to the children living here.

Story from Dasaripalem Education Centre

About 2000 families are living in this slum for the last 5 years without any facilities. Hundreds of children are missing education here due to unavailability of the education opportunities. And if they want to go to school to walk at least about 3 to 5 kms and cross highway no.5.  And their parents are unable to send the children to other schools by autos or other transportation facility due to expensive.  Therefore many children were out of schools.

At last with all your support we are started a special school here and smoothly running with two teachers and one care taker. At present almost 50 children are attending in this school. All the families are very happy for their children getting education after many years of out of schools. This school is running in a rented hut, please see in the following photos. Thank you for your support.

4 more other Education centers

We are successfully continuing our established 5 education centers located in the remote slums. And also we are successfully obtained the recognition from the government of Andhra Pradesh. The major similarity for all these Education centers is providing education opportunity to all the out of school children due to unavailability of education facilities in their living areas. Children are very happy to attend the classes and learning as per their standards in education.

Request

Thank you so much for your continuous support for this project. We are very happy and thankful to you all. We humbly request you please recommend this project to many people around the world. We are very difficult to run the centers without your support. Children are unable to sit in classes with hungry stomachs. Still we have to provide at least good lunches. I request you please support our children to get education.

Thank you so much for the support

Rekha, one of our children in this project
Rekha, one of our children in this project

Dear Friends!

We are very happy to submit the progress report of the project Educate 300 Displaced Children in India!

Thank you so much for each and every supporter for this project for making donation for the welfare of 300 unfortunate Children in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh India!

We are successfully organizing this project with the support and cooperation from you as well as the government of India and the effective staff members.

First of all we are very success in getting approval and recognized of the project by Government of India under Rajiv Vidya Mission (RVM) for our existing 3 centers and as well as newly started two more centers in October 2011. Thus altogether we have five centers already started and serving the targeted unfortunate children in Guntur city.

  1. Centre one at Sundaryya Colony of Guntur city started from August 2011,   one teacher and one caretaker cum cook has organizing this centre.  We have 50 children admitted but 40 children only attending to this centre.  This centre a basic need to all children here and facilitating educational needs. We are also providing lunch to the children during afternoon breaks.  All the children are not having enough food in their families so they like to get lunch in center. Community also cooperating very well in this area.
  2. Centre 2 at KVP colony Guntur started from August 2011. Two academic teaches and one cock cum care taker are organsing this centre.  40 children admitted and 34 children are regularly attending to the centre.  All the children are from migrating workers families. They stay in temporary huts attending to the works and their children are now attending to the centre to get education. Now children and their families are very happy that children get education as well as lunch here.
  3. Centre 3 at Siddrtha stone crushers, Boyapalem, this centre also stared from August 2011 and admitted   40 children and now attending 30 children. Here we have one teacher and one care taker organizing. All the families here are going for stone quarry works also some of the elder children going to works. We are not providing lunch here.  All children are very weak and poor not having enough food here in this centre.
  4. Centre 4 newly stared from 15th October 2011 at Dasaripelm of Guntur city.   Here 4000 population living in small houses and all the families going for the daily wage works in Guntur city and other factories and auto transportation and mechanical works. Our educational centre providing good opportunity to all the out of school children in this locality. We have admitted   40 children in this centre they are regularly attending to the school. Two teachers and one care taker coordinating this centre. We are not able to provide lunch to the children.
  5. Centre 5 also we are newly started from 1st November 2011 at Shalom agar of Edlapdu for the migrating families’ children. Here 150 families living without any facilities. We have admitted 40 out of school children into this center.  Here is a big challenge for us to get children to sit in the class. All children about 4 to 15 years are not attending any single class early and difficult to attend classes newly. Most of the children already influenced with improper behavior and affected with sickness. Some of the children going for begging and rag picking.  No neat and looking very ugly. We definitely have to change their lives through this centre. We appointed one teacher and one care taker for this centre.   We did not provide lunch here for these children.

Thus we are very success in this project for empowering unfortunate children through 5 centers. Still we have to start one more centre in Guntur city.

Unfortunately we are not able to get new supporters for this project. We are contacting many people but not getting support.  We have lots of hope and confidence to change lives of 300 children through this project. For that we have successfully witnessing by establishing 5 centers within 4 months.    Please see some of the new photos with this progress report.

We wish you a very happy Christmas and prosperous New Year 2012 to you and all them members in your family !
