Uplift a Child International Inc

The mission of Uplift a Child International is to identify the poor and needy children, place them in a school, and support them through 10 -12 years of schooling through the high school. This will keep the children off the streets, provide them with the basic skills to develop, and give them an opportunity to emerge as self-reliant and productive members of the society. By the time the children completes high school, they will have the necessary social skills to move on in life with respect.

Uplift a Child Quarterly Report - July 31, 2015

Dear Friends and Supporters of Uplift a Child International,

By now, we have completed the School admissions for all of our children within our network in all 3 countries – India, Nepal and Philippines. We are happy to see them very busy at School becoming better citizens with their learning process. We are thankful to all of our sponsors who are our strong pillars in seeing these children succeed with their gift of education and support.

Below are few updates on our recent activities from February to July,

Children Activities in India:Swachh Bharath Initiative from Uplift a Child India

300 of our children along with the help of our Uplift a Child volunteers have participated in adopting a specific section of the city which is dirty, cleaned it up and have educated the public to be responsible while littering around. This was witnessed by thousands of people in the little town of Tuni, E.G. District in AP, India

Children Activities in USA - Cake & Bake Sale by Rachana Krishnan & Team

These are High School Children in USA who are devoted to the principles of caring and giving. We are thankful to Priya and Gopala Krishnan for encouraging and inspiring their children and other youngsters in the society to start making a difference at a very young age.

Our Children in Flying Colors – 10th Grade Results in India

We would like to share the good news of our children’s hard work in India. From our network, we had 59 students appear for the 10th grade public exams and out of them 57 of them have passed with flying colors. Only 2 of them failed. That means 96% of our children have passed. We do have 2 of our children secured 9.7 GPA (97%). With their limited resources, they have competed with the rest of the world and have succeeded. While we celebrate the success of our children, we will spend extra time in taking care of those 2 who could not make it. With God’s blessings and continued hard work, we will succeed. It is always happy news for all of us at Uplift a Child to see our children competing with the rich children at School and passing their grades with good results. Many of them are now out of School and have started junior college. Most of them are now self supporting students doing some type of work to pay for their tuition.

2015 Uplift a Child India & Nepal Mission Trip

Dear Sponsors, Friends and Well-Wishers,

We are delighted to share our experience after returning back to the USA on completion of our successful trip to India. At the outset, we thank God for rendering his blessings over the15th successful year of our service to the underprivileged children in India, Nepal and the Philippines. Our family along with our core team had the privilege of meeting our children to celebrate their success and share their burden while striving to succeed.

Uplift a Child annually awards all our children who stood outstanding with a best performance in their academics. Large congregations attend these public meetings among which most of them are our children, their surviving parents, school staff, sponsors, Government executives, social workers, friends and well-wishers. Our special focus is to inspire and encourage the award recipients who achieved it without much of parental care and support. Our commitment is to “create future leaders with concrete human values”, so we inspire our children with practical speeches which are useful for developing their skills and abilities. These ceremonies create a festive environment and our children and parents cannot wait for such occasions every year. We personally visited 90% of our children in India and our staff visited our children in Nepal. Rena Vonumu has also conducted one program on her own by going to India 2 weeks in advance. Each year we are nearing in achieving our goal of creating future leaders and better citizens of the country. Along with God’s blessing, we appreciate the steady and on going support of our sponsors and tireless efforts of our volunteers which is enabling us to move forward in serving humanity with the gift of education. Naveen Dasari has completed the Nepal trip behalf of Uplift a Child. We will be touching 3000 children this year (with an addition of 700 new children). It is not our intention to keep increasing the numbers but unable to turn away the eligible children who lost a father or mother to death.

Our Board of Directors in India, President-Dr.Satya Jnaneswari, Vice-President- Mr.Sudhakar Kaligithi, Treasurer-Mr. Krishna Kishore Parvathaneni, Secretary- Mr. Sudhaker Akurathi, Joint Secretary- Mr. Roy Prakash Thanukula, Uplift a Child Staff- Soinia Cherukuri (PA to Sam Vonumu & Director for Communications), Mrs.Kalpana Dharani Vadapalli (Manger), Naveen Dasari (Director - Public Relations, India & Nepal), Rena Vonumu and our Volunteers- Mr. Raja Babu Phani, Mr. Immanuel Geddam, Mr. Swaroop Naidu participated in the tour.

We have a busy 2015 with many fund raisers, sponsors programs and events. We will work hard to generate the support our children need so that they can have a better tomorrow.

Best Wishes

Sam & Rena Vonumu

2014 Uplift a Child Annual Report

Dear Friends, Sponsor’s & well-wishers,

We thank God for His blessings and guidance as we approach to the end of our 14th year of service to the less fortunate children since its inception in 2000. We cannot forget the encouragement and the support that we received from 580 sponsors (USA, UK, India, Ukraine, UAE, Oman, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Switzerland, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, & South America), 80 volunteers from east to west, and friends from all over along with the help of our administrative teams and Board of Directors from USA, Nepal, India & Philippines.

We had a fantastic year with lot of activities and celebrations which include Annual Award ceremonies, Sponsor’s Meets, Independence Day Celebrations, Fundraisers, Walkathon and Seminars. We could sense the team spirit which led to the success of every event. Three Dance Academies have conducted programs exclusively for raising funds for the benefit of our children. We are promoted through walkathon program. Some kids donated all their birthday celebrations’ money to Uplift a Child and also did fundraising program on Children’s day. I am happy to inform you about our successful launching of Uplift a Child in the Philippines. Ms. Jocelyn Soriano has come forward to take this mission to Philippines and she is the Director for Philippines. This year we have extended our help to the children at Chitwan in Nepal. We were able to sponsor 300 more children who have been waiting for help.

We are much delighted to experience this success through the support of our Sponsors, Volunteers, well-wishers, Schools and Business vendors. We express our sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to all of you. We are proud to say that we have achieved beyond our expectations which has become possible just because of you all. We recommit ourselves to serve the underprivileged by giving them quality education.

Wish you Happy holidays and a have a great New Year 2015!

Thank you,

Sam & Rena Vonumu
