PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE/THEMATIC AREAS Pro-Life Counseling/Psychosocial Support/Social Education Activities: TRI encourages a culture of sexual chastity and other preventive measures that protect the human body as sacred. TRI delivers broad based courses that promote life skills needed to know HOW to live a sexually pure life such as abstinence (primary and secondary), negotiation skills, contraceptive use, goal setting, decision making, value clarification, etc. However, for young girls who have fallen through the cracks and are pregnant, TRI encourages them to choose life for the unborn. TRI knows that life begins at conception. Accommodation Support: TRI goes through a step-wise approach to provide succour to enrollees on need basis. Exploring immediate and extended family ties or placing enrollees with TRI partners. In stringent cases where suitable TRI partners are not identified to assume caregiver roles over an enrollee, TRI will provide a limited accommodation support to enrollees pending when they are comfortable to return to their families. Re-Integration and Foster Care Placement Support : AS A PRINCIPLE, TRI NEVER AND WILL NOT GIVE OUT CHILDREN FOR ADOPTION. TRI believes that at some point in life, enrollees would desire to have their babies back, hence the need to create that opportunity-a unique principle that differentiates TRI from other foster institutional homes/organizations. TRI and its partners are willing to care for a baby until the enrollee opts to take back her child. TRI works with the relevant State Government institutions to recommend foster care as a last resort to children born by enrollees only if the child has attained the age of Ten(10) under a TRI partner. By law and principle, TRI will NOT give out a child for adoption. TRI will also not recommend for the relevant State Governments to legally give out a TRI enrollee's child out for adoption. TRI has a legal counsel who ensures that the principles of TRI and the Government are adhered to the letter. School-based/Work-life Help Attache/Mentor: TRI helps to support expectant mums get along with school activities to avoid a total drop-out. An attache is assigned to pick up assignments, lecture notes and other academic requirements on a daily or weekly basis to the enrollee. TRI works with the lecturer or school through the attache to ensure tests and examinations are administered in a flexible manner to prevent the enrollee from falling through the cracks of the educational system because she is pregnant. Skill Acquisition/Entrepreneurial Training: In the short time that an enrollee is offered succour, TRI provides entrepreneurial skills, formal and informal education to enable enrollees acquire a skill that can fetch them a living after they have been graduated from the programme. Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Care and Support: TRI designs concerted interventions to support community based OVC (maternal orphans, paternal orphans, double orphans and vulnerable) with family-centered services across the pillars of care as stipulated by the National Priority Agenda of the FGN although on need basis. TRI also runs an orphanage especially caring for babies saved from abortion. Youth Development: As modernization gets optimal in the society, youths are getting more curious and explorative more than ever. Without the right guidance, values and sensitization youths are more likely to be swept by peer pressure into the frustrating hands of nefarious vices. TRI helps to skillfully steer the direction of youths and provide answers to the teeming questions they barely ask their parents or guardians; in a friendly, non-judgmental yet realistic manner that will help them take commendable informed decisions to impact their futures positively. TRI passes across key information through training, counseling, practical hands-on capacity building, Edu-sporting events and other innovative activities that appeal to the interest of youths. Cross-Cutting Programmes: Health Promotion, HIV/AIDS, M&E Consultancy, Programme Evaluation, Orphans and Vulnerable Children Care. These are specialized areas that TRI consults and implements for donors to enable it achieve its overall aim of saving tender lives. Research and Data Management: TRI specializes in conducting key development research such as program evaluations: baselines, midterm evaluations, final evaluations, organizational assessment and conducting special studies. TRI is also skilled in recruiting data collectors/entry personnel; and analyzes data to proffer relevant unbiased recommendations according to project needs. The initiator of TRI is a certified Program Evaluator, Researcher, a member of the American Evaluation Association (2015) and African Evaluation Association (AfrEA). TRI consults for the private and public sector organizations to manage bulk information or data into easily accessible, organized and secure data in line with ethical standards. TRI also consults to train organizational staffs in effective data management. In a fast-paced digital world, TRI designs electronic databases by transforming paper-based data into electronic data. OUR APPROACH/FUNDING/PARTNERSHIP TRI provides services based on need through a continum of care - preventive measures and care for affected. TRI is funded by personal savings, donations from philanthropists, consultancy service fees, domestic resource mobilization efforts and it is open to external funding from donors.
