Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2017 !

The first quarter of the 2016-2017 school year has just ended at the Glenn Paige Nonkilling School. The students had good results. The success rate is estimated at 94.7%.

On the day of proclamation (December 17) many parents came to the School to attend this joyous ceremonies. What songs! What dances!

Parents took the opportunity to visit our construction site where the masons were building ; some parents remained bending to exercise to bring this and that to the masons. One of the parents, also said “tuhitilela ihwatelecha metu masomo mawe lubero”. This phrase in kibembe (spoken local language) means 'that we will help more so that the work ends quickly'.

Indeed, the materials are ready and the work of concreting begins.

Unfortunately, these festive hours at the School have contrasted enormously with the general security context of the region. People were afraid and the anguish was alarming. The armed groups and the government soldiers were on alert. It is a period of end of the mandate of the President of the Republic when there is no solution on the elections and on the future institutions that should direct the country.

About this confused situation, a deemed leader said in kibembe language ” Mukangure masomo na mamulo mu  me’se mose batu bamanye ilonga alembe” that means "You should establish Schools and Universities Nonkilling in all countries so that people will learn to keep peace"

We act for peace and we keep hope.

Dear beloved, at the end of 2016, we would like to thank you for having supported. Your generosity has touched us ; we would not have reached this stage without your support. You make the world a pleasant place to live. Let us hope your continuing  support  until project completion. Thank you for your suggestions.

Wishing you and your Family peace and joy in this holiday season.

Happy New Year 2017!

Happy New Year 2017 !

Glenn Paige Nonkilling School Boat is still under repair. It is a delicate and slow operation : select the rotted wood and replace it with new ones.

We preferred to use the wood of species called "Mukalakata" reputed to be hard and suitable for this work. However, these woods are difficult to find, which delay the good progress of works.

One of the repairers says "tukipata mikalakata, mingi kazi itakwisha mbio"; this Kiswahili sentence means "If we have in stock a lot of mikalakata  the work will move faster"

While waiting for the complete repair of our boat, we rent our old Yamaha 55 horsepower motor to other boats and thus be able to cope with the needy expenses of the School.

With this project, we have to replace this old engine for a more powerful motor (75 horsepower) and adapted to our boat.

We sincerely thank our generous donors for their support in 2016 and count on them for the new year 2017. We thank you in advance for your suggestions to improve our work.

Wishing you and your Family peace and joy in this holiday season.

Happy New Year 2017!

School construction 9

The new school year 2016-2017 took place there two weeks ago at Glenn Paige Nonkilling School / Kazimia. It’s another year of hard work and success in a political and security context undecided in the country and particularly in our region where armed groups are active.

The school welcomed 52 new students  and postponed the opening of the new class ( 6th form) for next year. The teaching staff has remained stable. The two-week stay of Mleci coordinator  ( Project Leader) at the school has an overall evaluation of activities on the following points : administrative organization, general education courses and  nonkilling course, financial situation (profitability of the boat), evolution in pupil enrollment, contribution of the local community ,teachers stability and construction of new buildings.

 The results were deemed satisfactory.

As regards construction, it now begins after the storage period of buildings materials. The local community is actively involved in this activity for the school to move forward and that through it many people can become aware of the need for peace.

This, joins the thought of on officer in Congolese army in charge of security in the region who said “kuwa na shule lenye  linafundisha amani ni muzuri sana. Sote tunaweza kuleta amani katika maeneo  yetu “

This sentence in Kiswahili means "To have a school join us by teaching  nonkilling  and maintaining peace is excellent. Together we can restore peace in the region ".

Dear beloved, with your continued support, this project will achieve its objectives, namely to study the children victims of war  in good conditions.

Thank you our nonkilling friends for suggestions to improve our work.

Best wishes.
