Life in a township is difficult at the best of times and even more so for women in particular. High levels of gender inequality mean that women are unable to work or earn an income. This is due to the lack of access to education, leaving school early to look after their families and gender discrimination in the workplace. This keeps women in the cycle of poverty and they become dependent on their husbands for support. We hope to break this cycle through this skill-training project
We have provided training to women through a 6-week program where they learn to either sew, cook or work on a computer. $10 provides transport for one women for 2 weeks to attend the program and just $20 will provide data for internet connection for the computer program.

Educational resources for Africa
By Shayle Havemann - Project leader
Our local school is registered as a non profit and provides children with a safe and nurturing education full of rich opportunities to learn. We provide a diverse, multicultural and non-discriminating approach, where differing needs, cultures and abilities are respected and valued within inclusive learning environments. Accessing different funding opportunities and gifts from our supporters we are able to provide early childhood development lessons at the school to inspire young minds early.
$10 will provide stationary for one student for a full term, $20 will purchase 4 books for the library and $35 pays the salary for one of the ECD teachers for the day.

Equal access to education is crucial!
By Shayle Havemann - Project Leader
There is a 50% gap between the number of children from families above the poverty line compared to the number of children from families below the poverty line who are enrolled in school. Education in Nepal is already struggling with poor quality education due to underqualified teachers, poor/no educational resources and unsafe infrastructure,
Effective education in the early years will broaden children's future opportunities and capabilities, minimising drop -out rates and encouraging further studies in higher education. Just $20 will provide resources for 2 children for an entire year. We have currently raised $11606 but still need a further $4000 to reach our goal.
