The Candle Night Global foundation continues to receive mentoring from the South African Depression and Anxiety Group ;the leading mental health advocacy group in Africa. To provide quality mental health awareness projects and advocacy in our local Ghanaian communities as well as providing the only free telephonic counseling space across Ghana.Our 24 hour helpline provides crises intervention and prevention on suicide,substance and drug abuse,gender based violence| domestic violence,with its related trauma,depression and anxiety disorders and other related mental health illnesses. Candle Night Global Foundation works extensively in schools ,presenting talks on topics such as trauma,suicide prevention,gender based violence,sexual victimization,domestic violence, depression and anxiety,examination stress and anxiety,substance and drug abuse prevention. The talks are usually held in open assembly areas after which students get the opportunity to meet our volunteer psychologists and interact with them by asking questions to avoid being ridiculed and stigmatized by their peers.We ensure that all learners questions are adequately addressed and we explain how they can access free help via our helpline and S.M.S services.During our visit to the schools,questionnaires are distributed to learners and their responses gives us the opportunity to meet the students individual needs and provide reference calls,counselings and referrals where necessary. During this interactions which are usually done over the telephone,we provide learners with quality advocacy services which are essential enough to enable them make informed decisions. We provide them with appropriate knowledge of what their options are and the facilities in their immediate space that can be useful to their individual conditions. We also have brochures with useful point on the subject mater and our helpline numbers which we distribute to learners for necessary onward interactions and help. In addition to our non-governmental affiliations, all necessary background checks and inspections are ongoing by the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit(D.O.V.V.S.U) of the Ghana Police Service for collaborations and affiliations We have also undergone all necessary documentations with the Ghana Education Service and the body is currently scrutinizing and streaming our works in schools all over the country.
