International Alert seeks to understand the causes of violent conflict and build lasting peace in communities affected or threatened by war by: - Working directly with people affected by violent conflict, supporting their efforts to bring peace; - Improving the substance and implementation of international policy and practice relevant to peacebuilding; - Strengthening the expertise, impact and public profile of the peacebuilding sector.
