A Fair Shot taken together

With the funding from A Fair Shot, LULAC has completed the first portion of the approved work plan. We have launch the immigration story collection series that can be found here https://lulac.org/afairshot/storycollection/. Additionally, we have filmed a two-part series for immigration. They are currently being edited and are slated for Feb 12 and Fe 26 viewing launch. We partnered with our local LULAC Council 272 in Dallas to run this portion of the program. Additionally, we've been doing work on the back end to finalize the remaining workshop for our next part of the grant, which includes the below topics:

• Mental Health

• Budgeting

• Side Hustle

LULAC Continues to advance Latinos

This year has been filled with grassroots organizing, elections, lawsuits, demonstrations, Covid19 awareness, and fundraising for relief efforts. This all wouldn’t have been possible without you.  In summary, 2020 will be a year we will always remember.

Annually, LULAC engages its network of 135,000 community volunteers, 1,000 local councils, 68 community technology centers, and 14 LULAC National Educational Service Centers to empower Hispanic families through direct service programs in 41 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

Throughout the last 12 months, our programs were able to serve over 6,200 individuals through our educational, health, technology, and community empowerment programs.  Additionally, we were able to engage with over 86 partners and LULAC councils in carrying out 390 events in 2020.

This was possible with donations from supporters like you and we're so grateful.

Together, we will change the future

We've added a new position on our team- Environmental Fellow through donations for GlobalGiving and Corporate Sponsors. This position will support the policy team’s work to ensure long-term engagement and presence in the broader public policy discussion around environmental issues. The Fellow’s work will focus on environmental issues affecting the Latino community, such as climate change, clean energy, and our communities' health and safety. This Fellow will also work to develop the infrastructure for the proposed environmental initiative. We're excited to bring awareness in person and develop policy-focused one-pagers to inform the Hispanic community.

We look forward to continuing the fight!

Thank you,

Aileen Marquez
