Update Report Apr-Jul 2021

Hello Friends,

At this Report written, we are in 2nd lockdown due to Pandemic Situation is not getting better. We have been able to work closely with local governments and community iniciatives and also private sectors to provide essential needs for people in needs, in Bali and beyond. Bali is still close for international tourism due to Covid-19 pandemic. This is affecting many people in Bali generally. There are many businesses closed, big and small businesses.

There are around 150.000 unemployment in Bali because of many businesses closed. Bali relied heavily on tourism as 80% population working in tourism industry. Many people who work in urban area supporting their family in rural area, but they can't do that anymore due they laid off by the company.

As we worked with local government, we searched for people in needs in rural area of Bali. This month we went up to north of Bali, which is about 3 hours away from the international airport. We support 50 families which we prioritise for elderly, people with disabilities and people with no income. Those are people who urgently need help. We support 50 packages of 2 weeks food supplies consist of total :

500 kgs of rice

100 liters of cooking oil

1500 eggs

50 boxes of noodles

With these food and daily supplies, we are able to ease the burden of the family in needs. We are able to do this because of your support and your donation. We will continue our work with your help and distribute the food supplies to other rural areas in Bali. We hope that Bali will be opened for international tourism and build up the economy again soon. This is a challenging time for all of us, particularly in Bali, Indonesia but we will back stronger than ever. Once again behalf of people in Bali, Indonesia, thank you for your support.

God Bless

Update Report Jan-Apr 2021

Jan-Apr 2020 was still a difficult month to our Women Workshop. But we would also want to inform that all of our beneficiaries and all of our staff and management are safe and well. We want to send our Gratitude to all of you who have been supporting us all along these few months. We pray that you and your family are also well despite all of this pandemic.

Bali is still closed for International Tourism until further notice, which impact the region with a big hit. There are many businesses closed down and the unemployment rates are increasing the last 12 months. We also have many sponsors backdown and stop their support towards our program

We know that everyone is struggling at this moment due to Covid-19 Pandemic, and we are very grateful that you still continue to support us through this difficult time. Without your support and donation, we wont be able to run our program and change the life of many. You make this happen!!

By the time you receive this report, we are able to continue our program for the Women Workshop. We are able to do things below and many more, The Women’s Workshop which has space for 10 women in the future run five days a week between the hours of 9am – 5pm. The women who come are mostly the mothers of the children attending the Centre The women taught how to make whatever the customers request e.g. handicrafts, jewellery, etc. there are also sewing machines, which can be used. The women supervised and trained by Bali Life staff.

The workshop is not only to provide the women with a regular income but also to add additional income to the family that eventually will enable them to move out of the dump area to a healthier environment. On this pandemic situation is hard for us as there are very minimum orders that we received. But, we are still able to support the mums and the family with basic supplies and provide them with Breakfast and Lunch from Monday to Friday.

For the mothers attending the Women’s Workshop, they gain many more skills, which increase their ability to continue working at the Workshop or eventually, find appropriate paid work It is expected that as a result of health education and free medical support the health and well – being of the beneficiaries will increase. By receiving donations of clothing, personal toiletry items like shampoo, toothpaste, soap etc the standard of living will improve for the beneficiaries significantly.

All Donors, We encourage you to spread the news about the project, please invite your friends and family to support this project and together we can change the life of these children. We still need your help to keep this program running.

Jan- Apr 2021 was still a difficult month to our Street Kids Centre. But we would also want to inform that all of our beneficiaries and all of our staff and management are safe and well. We want to send our Gratitude to all of you who have been supporting us all along these few months.

We pray that you and your family are also well despite all of this pandemic. We know that everyone is struggling at this moment and we are very grateful that you still continue to support us through this difficult time. Thank you to all donors who have been supporting this cause. We able to reach our target because of your continuous support.

  • Children attending the informal school show improvement in their ability to read and write in Bahasa and English Lesson, computer class, understanding of Math, develop in Sport, Music and Creativity
  • They show positive changes in their behavior in terms of maintaining concentration in class, being respectful of teachers, a decline in aggressiveness towards other children, the ability to share with other children, to treat school property appropriately and be able to follow school rules.
  • These improved skills enable them to more easily transition to mainstream schooling where their success is greatly improved in staying long term.
  • It is expected that as a result of health education and free medical support the health and well–being of the beneficiaries is increase.
  • By receiving donations of clothing, personal toiletry items like shampoo, toothpaste, soap etc the standard of living is improving for the beneficiaries significantly.
  • We also distribute a regular 2 weeks of food supplies for the street families in this difficult time which really help them
  • We limited the children who come to our centre to be safe and abide the social distancing rules that have been set up by the government.

Now we have 7 kids already in a Formal School. Most of them are in middle school, and we have 2 children to finished Acceleration program this year so they also can go to Middle School.

We also notice there are a few new beggars in the area where we visited around Kuta Area.

We have 30 children attendance per week. As it for now, we have 3 Teachers who help to reach this family and bring them to our Centre and teach and educate the children.

Thank You Very much for your support,
