The safety task forces make environmental improvements to areas where children walk, research studies are conducted to assess the various situations, behaviors and attitudes and law enforcement, all working together to promote child pedestrian safety. The program emphasizes on "Safe Walking" & "Safe Crossing". This program is implemented through the train the trainer's model in Mumbai, New Mumbai, Thane, Ahmedabad and Delhi. Awareness programs, classroom interactive education sessions and events are conducted on road safety in schools and communities to provide them with skills to be safe on the roads. With support from Safe Kids Worldwide and Honeywell, Safe Kids Foundation launched 'Safe Kids at Home' program with a focus on 'Preventing Fire and Burns' in Pune in 2015. It is an interactive school- based educational program consisting of interactive classroom activities, home assignments, games, videos and songs. The program aims to protect children from fire and burninjuries through training and awareness in schools, communities and among caregivers. It aspires to bring together citizens and civic bodies who can lead the way in making Pune a model safe city in India.
