Educate Girls

Educate Girls' vision is to achieve behavioral, social and economic transformation towards an India where all children have equal opportunities to access quality education. We leverage existing community and government resources to ensure that all girls are in school and learning well. We aim at improving access and quality of education for 4 million children living in underserved communities in India by 2018.
Bringing Seema and many other girls #BackToSchool!
While it is #BackToSchool time for many children, for millions of young girls it is more like 'back to the kitchen!' Seema lives in a faraway village in Rajasthan (India) and used to be confined to her home doing household chores and looking after her siblings until recently. Educate Girls brings out of school girls like Seema #BackToSchool so they have an opportunity to carve a better future for themselves. This academic year, these girls await your help so they have access to an education!
The Child Brides: Send Them to School instead
68% of girls in Rajasthan are married under legal age of 18 and 15% of these girls are married before 10. Hence, India is home to the largest number of illiterate women in the world (over 200 Mn) with over 3 Mn eligible yet out of school girls. We've identified 19,956 out of school girls in Jalore district in Rajasthan and have enrolled 9,346 girls. We need your help to enroll the remaining 10,610 girls into rejuvenated schools. When you support us, you give a girl at least 1 year in school. project reportread updates from the field

Empower girls with life skills: Create Leaders!
We empower girl students to form groups called Bal Sabhas or a Girls' Councils, which are elected democratically by all students in the school. The girls engage in role playing and storytelling, which leads to an increase in the participation and helps in developing critical thinking, problem solving, communication, leadership skills and many more. This year, our target is to prepare 5,070 girls in 390 schools to lead their life and their communities. project reportread updates from the field
