The First 30 Days

There are 100,000 families displaced all over Northern Luzon and a lost of 9.5 billion crops due to two typhoon that hit this area.

For the past 4 weeks, Dr. Joel A. Tejedo, missionary professor of the Asia Pacific Theological Seminary and president of Sambayanihan Ministries International Inc., a Christian NGO has been able to help over 1,000 families in Itogon and most of the Cordillera municipalities.

We have provided shelter for the displaced families as well as food, fresh water, clothing and school supplies to continue the education for the children. We believe that the children must continue their education and have constructed temporary classrooms for them. Through donations, we have been able to give them school books, notebooks, pencils and other school supplies needed to attend classes.

The women have been wonderful at helping people find clothing for themselves and their familes. The generosity of so many people have made this possible.

With your continued support we can continue to provide food, shelter and other essentials and soon offer medical and dental care, training on financial literacy and help rebuild their homes and farms.

Thank you again for all your support!

The Philippines Mission Trip

The Aeta Women
The Aeta Women

The Bernasol Educational Foundation's Philippines team completed a very successful trip last month which your generous donations made possible!  We were very excited to bring hope to the Aeta tribe through the building of a cacao plantation.  This project will create many local jobs and will provide sustainability to the tribe for years to come!

Our team met with the Aeta chiefs and pastors in six different regions and relocation camps throughout the province of Zambales to discuss and see the land set aside for the cacao farms. August is their raining season so we were unable to travel too far in the mountains because of flooding and mudslides. It rained each day we were there which made travel extremely difficult.

The other objective was our Vacation Bible School program for the tribe's children and a conferences for the women. Each day we set out to one of the six regions and conducted a VBS for the children and meet with all the women after VBS to discuss and plan additional sustainable projects such as jewelry making or bags/satchels made from flour and rice sacks. Many women had wonderful ideas and designs and only lacked the initial startup costs to purchase supplies. There are many talented women who have offered their services to teach the other women in their village to make the bags and jewelry.

Over the three weeks, we ministered to and fed over 1,100 children and 300 women throughout the six regions. It was a wonderful mission and we appreciate your continued support of our efforts and invite you to share this opportunity to be lifechangers with your friends and family!  Please stay tuned for more updates.

Prepping for the Philippines

Aeta Children
Aeta Children

The Bernasol Educational Foundation's Philippines team is busy preparing for our upcoming trip in August, which your generous donations will make possible!  We are very excited to be bringing hope to the Aeta tribe through the building of a cacao plantation.  This project will create many local jobs and will provide sustainability to the tribe for years to come!

Our team is working both here in the U.S. and through local contacts in the Philippines to gather supplies and coordinate laborers for this project.  The land is ready, and we can't wait to break ground in August!  We are also planning our Vacation Bible School program for the tribe's children and a conference for the women.  As the whole tribe is excited about the new cacao plantation project, we are using the themes of planting, growing, and harvesting for our Bible teaching programs.  We are very excited to embark on this journey to change both the physical and spiritual lives of the Aeta tribe.

We appreciate your continued support of our efforts and invite you to share this opportunity to be lifechangers with your friends and family!  Please stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to our departure date and then throughout our trip.
