Our mission is to take all children off the streets in Pakistan into main stream education, ensuring they enjoy their childhood and achieve their full potential and dreams. Background 2 million children in Pakistan are on the streets and more than 25 million children are out of school (UNICEF/UNESCO report 2015). Background 2 million children in Pakistan are on the streets and more than 25 million children are out of school (UNICEF/UNESCO report 2015). These children are exposed to abuse, violence, child labour, begging and forced into a life of crime. They have been robbed of their childhood and their ability to dream has been taken away from them. Most charities and the government are focused on opening schools for these children but there are no government or charity programs aimed at inspiring these children to go school. As a result most of these children spend their entire lives on garbage dumps, begging on streets or working in shops or bonded labour. Child Protection and Rehabilitation Trust (CPRT) is a unique and only program in Pakistan (UK based and registered with UK Charity commission, 1160070 as well as being registered as Child Care and Rehabilitation Society (CCRS) charity, Reg.16-1854 in Pakistan) that is successfully inspiring children to enter main stream schooling for more than 5 years. We believe all children, like our own families, deserve a happy fun filled life and childhood. After identifying a city and a locality we survey the area and approach the children, their parents and the owners of the business or garbage dumps they are working in. After explaining the program and getting everyone's consent we bring our children to a safe environment in our centres for a few hours every day. We have been working since 2012 and after a successful start in Peshawar centres we registered as a UK based charity in January 2015. We then got registered as a charity in Pakistan in 2016. We now have 13 centres in 8 major cities and the only organisation in all 4 provinces of Pakistan helping street children into main stream education. Our Aims & Approach Our aims and approach are simple. We want to give these children their childhood back and let them enjoy these years like our children do. We achieve this by letting them have fun and involve them in games and activities which are aimed at teaching team work, respecting others, communication and leadership skills among other skill sets. We give them a taste of life they have not had before and help them to dream again, and dream big, like we want for our children. We achieve this by taking them on trips to museums, libraries, other schools, universities, restaurants, picnics, joylands, archaeological sites, national monuments helping them see life they have not experienced before. We then help them achieve their dreams like we do for our own children. We help our children off the streets and into mainstream education. Our objective is to identify their true potential and help them achieve their full potential.
