Sandy Hook Promise is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Newtown, Connecticut. SHP was founded just two days after the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in December 2012, and is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed. The mission of SHP is to prevent gun and other forms of violence BEFORE they happen by creating a culture of engagement and awareness around identifying, intervening, and getting help for individuals who may be at risk of hurting themselves or others. We do this through delivering, at no cost, four Know the Signs (KTS) violence prevention programs to middle and high schools nationwide.
Each of GlobalGiving’s nonprofit partners is required to send quarterly donor reports detailing the impact of their work.
