Leadership Initiatives (LI) renews democracies on a grassroots level by cultivating self-reliant leadership. We help individuals and communities forge the connections necessary to solve local problems using existing community resources. In the process we train a new generation of innovative, resourceful leaders poised to catapult their neighborhoods, regions, and nations forward.
Create 6 jobs with an Automobile Repair Program
 
The community of Bauchi's youth population is made up of petty traders. Without specialized skills or training most individuals have little opportunity to achieve even the most basic elements of economic independence. The Abubakar Automobile Repair shop will infuse the neighborhood with sorely needed skills and income to young men who have no where else to turn and showcase for other youths that through hard work and skills training they too can have a future. project reportread updates from the field
Plaster of Paris
 
After decades of poor upkeep, many infrastructures created during colonial rule in the 1950s have begun to crumble. Repairing these decaying structures can be done by using Plaster of Paris in construction. project reportread updates from the field
Secondary Technical Training Skills For Businesses
 
Provide secondary skills training for growing businesses in the Bauchi region to better develop welding, automobile repair, electrical repair and carpentry to better serve the growing community. Create 20 New Jobs With Our New Leaders Project
 
Leadership Initiatives will launch a new microproject training program for LI leaders unable to come to their offices in Bauchi and will offer a new satellite class to those who have ideas to create change within their communities but do not have the resources to become part of the Bauchi training program. Future Business Leaders in this education project will come from surrounding Northern Nigerian communities allowing new businesses to from outside of Bauchi state to create regional change project reportread updates from the field
Create 150 Jobs in two years in Northern Nigeria
 
Leadership Initiatives has received funding for a new Leadership Program that will create at least 5 new businesses and create 20 new employment positions. Leadership Initiatives would like to offer these programs a third and final training section to give the businesses a more powerful edge to create change within their communities. Create jobs, raise fish, change lives
 
Currently, many of the subsistence farmers in Bauchi state depend on what they can grow for their diet- but with limited acreage, many are unable to have any meat or protein in their diet. Fall 2013 LI Business Renewal Project
 
After the major success of the spring project LI has vastly improved it's mechanics and welding programs.This fall program will provide previous LI businesses with additional training that will update them with the proper tools that will expand their electrician and carpentry shops. Disabled Education For Technical Work
 
Life for young men and women with physical disabilities is especially difficult in Bauchi state. Faced with severe social stigmas in a region where unemployment is already extremely high, these individuals are frequently reduced to begging in the streets in order to feed themselves. This project will focus on giving disabled men and women education and training in order for them to live independently. In particular this program will help disabled individuals learn to work in areas of technology. project reportread updates from the field

Create 6 New Jobs with the Hadisu Fashion Project
 
Skilled tailor Abdulhadi Usman wants to open up the Hadisu Fashion Shop to provide affordable custom tailoring to the fast growing Dass region of Bauchi State Nigeria. With the proper business training Abdulhadi will open up her store to provide businessmen and women tailored suits and dresses, which is unavailable within the community.
