ISERH GRADUATES AND INDUCTS 56 AS ASSOCIATE AMBASSADORS FROM ISERH UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES CLASS 3

It was a long journey of 5 months that started on the 6th of July, 2019 with 157 Undergraduates and Fresh Graduates from Ghana, Kenya, Burundi, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Malawi, and Nigeria that got admitted into ISERH Undergraduate Studies Class 3, out of 493 applicants from 8 countries. They all came in with the high hope, courage and determination to be trained by our various world-class facilitators on Leadership, Socio-corporate, Relationship, and Entrepreneurial Skills. The free course was held on Whatsapp every Saturday while the scholars were expected to record a 75% attendance rate, 50% facebook engagement rate, and implement a capstone project, either as a group or individuals, in order to graduate and get inducted as ISERH Associate Ambassadors.

It was indeed a battle for survival and can simply be seen as the quest for the best. Only 56 scholars of the course met all the requirements expected of them to graduate and get inducted as ISERH Associate Ambassadors. They are the courageous, highly determined, refined, outstanding, and industrious, who defiled all odds to see to the end of the course. They handled the course as if it’s certificate is equal to degree's. They formed groups in some cases, for the purpose of implementing the capstone project. Many made themselves 'a lone ranger', in the quest to implementing their capstone project. Coming in contact with them on the field would make you take their capstone project for their undergraduate's project.

Scholar Yusuf, a graduate of Social Works from Fourah Bay College University – Sierra Leone, made a history as he implemented 2 capstone projects against 1 mandatory project, and reached 715 beneficiaries in Sierra Leone against from the stipulated minimum of 8 beneficiaries. Consequently, he was announced as the winner of the $100 maiden edition of ISERH Facilitators Prize as a honour for his outstanding performance during the course of studies.

We have never seen such courageous and determined young men/women as these our ISERH Associate Ambassadors. A new family has been born for them/us all, as they now have unrestricted access to the pool of undergraduates and graduates from African countries that made up this network. Aside this, they can now access various resources: human, opportunities, fellowships, internships, trainings/seminars, books, motivational/lecture audios and videos, jobs opportunities, mentorship, counseling, etc via our newly launched Associate Ambassadors Portal as they possess their unique login details to the site: http://ius.iserh.org and can as well blog for the world to read.

132 IWARA MIDDLE SCHOOL'S STUDENTS GET BOOKS

'Your visit was timely and this intervention program of yours will really help boost our pupils' morale. On behalf of the students and the entire management of the school, we say a big thank you'. Those were the words of the Principal of Iwara Middle School, Iwara in Atakunmosa East Local Government Area of Osun State, Mr. L. R. Orisajinmi, when our team visited the school on Thursday 3rd October, 2019 with the primary target of 50 Beneficiaries but the situation in the school forced the target to 132 by the way of giving items meant for 50 to 132 students.

The Vice Principal of the school, Mr. O. Ayodele, eulogized the organization for supporting indigent students of hard-to-reach rural communities. He then prayed for more success in our endeavors. The enthusiastic students were provided with exercise books, textbooks, and pens to aid their learning.

ISERH Director of Programs, Aderanti Abimbola, encouraged the students to see this kind gesture as an encouragement to be serious with their studies while encouraging the staff to see it as a call to service in revamping the educational sector of the state. He thereafter presented the school with 3 cartons of chalks and a Pack of Pens to help aid their teaching.

Based on our mandate, Initiative for Sound Education, Relationship & Health (ISERH) will not relent in her efforts towards supporting hapless students of the state and as well as reward excellence. We appreciate those who donated towards this project directly or through GlobalGiving as we call for more supports to help make it sustainable thus revamping the educational sector of the state.

90 OSOWUSI STUDENTS OF ILOKO-JESA BENEFIT ISERH BACK TO SCHOOL PROJECT

'For counting our school worthy of this kind gesture, only God can reward you' - those were a part of the words spoken by the enthusiastic principal of Osowusi Middle/High School, Iloko-jesa, Oriade Local Government of Osun State - Mr. Ipoola A. O., as our team visited them for our Back to School Project. This is a project designed to support indigent students with education materials to aid their learning and support schools with teaching aids.

Wednesday, 2nd October, 2019 was yet another awesome outing for ISERH Team as students and staff of the named school welcomed the team amidst excitement. It is important to note that this school had produced 2 beneficiaries of ISERH SSCE/UTME Scholarship, of whom one is undergoing her Industrial Attachment Training (IT) with a Nigerian giant bank having completed her Ordinary National Diploma course at The Federal Polytechnic Ede. However, it saddens to note that despite the zeal and passion displayed by these students towards learning, majority of them still lack basic writing materials, while their ever-ready-to-impact teachers also need teaching aids to make their works easy and fun-filled.

Aderanti Abimbola, ISERH Program Director, and his colleague Akinwole Isiaq, ABC Project Director, appreciated the management for their warm reception while reiterating the organization's commitment to not only advocate for good educational policies but as well grant scholarships to deserving students and as well provide basic materials to the needy and the school at large. He further stated that the organisation's support to make education accessible for every willing students she comes across in the state is borne out of passion to impact this generation and those to come. He concluded his speech by admonishing them to be of good character and pursue their dreams diligently.

After the presentation of 3 cartons of chalks to the school, the Principal lauded the management of ISERH for such initiative as he called for such gesture and many more from well-meaning Nigerians. ISERH presents chalks to visited schools with the hope of making teaching easier for the teachers as many are instances where schools run out of chalks/basic teaching tools and such put a stop to covering the syllabus for the term.

As ISERH continues in her quest to supporting the vulnerable ones, our special appreciation to those who have been supporting this project via Global Giving and other direct support into our account. Together, we can conveniently breath life into every youth's dream.
