Hope School Receives a 25 acres Land to grow crops and vegetables
By Charles Mumba - Project Leader
Hope community school recently received a gift from it’s partners, a 25 acre land for the school. On this land we will grow vegetables and other crops. The school has a feeding program which helps children that come from impoverished homes to have at least one nutritious meal. The garden will help us to produce different kinds of vegetables which will be used for our feeding program at the school. The multifunctioning hall which is used as a dinning hall desperately needs a roof, so that the children can enjoy the vegetables from this land without being soaked by the rains. Further our children will learn skills in gardening from this land. Everything is excited about this land, especially that we will produce our own food.
Hope School recently added kindergarten to its School. Children in this Community start School when they are over 7 years. They dont have opportunity to attend Kindergarten to help these kids prepare for grade 1. Kindergarten will help to lay a good foundation. The Kids in the Community are responding very well. The Multipurpose Hall still needs a roof will be used by these children for their Indoor Activities. The Rain season which when comes will make impossible to do indoor activities. The Village of Twapia were the School is situated has alot of Children who are being take care of by a single parents, this has made it very difficult for these single parents who are mostly teenager single parents.
