Children in our wonderful orphan home in Hmawbi.
PFK is preparing for our Myanmar mission trip, the first of three mission trips to Asia in 2018, and it is coming along well!
Here is an upate on our progress thus far!
We are excited to share that we have secured in-kind donations of 10 ball point pens, 1 dozen school pencils, 1 package of colored pencils, and 1 journal for each of our 500 children in our Myanmar program! These donated items from BIC Graphic and Pencils.com, wil be shipped out to Myanmar in February via pro bono cargo flight by our airline sponsor, Cathay Pacific Airways.
The remaining school supplies, backpacks and uniforms needed will be purchased locally in Yangon, and will help support local businesses. In fact, Buddhist nunnery robes we provide to the orphan children are being made by Buddhist Nuns, the funds paid to them help support the children in the orphan homes!
We are continuing to fundraise for this mission trip to reach our goal of USD$25,000. We are hosting two upcoming events to support our efforts; a Asian Food Tasting in San Francisco, CA on January 17th and a Rooftop Cocktail Party in Yangon, Myanmar on February 28th...come join us!
We look forward to our next report detailing our success in meeting our fundraising goal!
