Changed Lives

We are just leaving Uganda after 3 weeks of working with our partners. We launched a micro-enterprise project with 10 men and women to learn to make leather products. We also got to visit with several men and women who had received goats in past years. It was so encouraging to see how these people have made such significant progress in their lives by being able to raise and sell goats. We have another team going to Uganda in January that would like to give more goats to a new village. This is truly a gift that keeps on giving.

More goats to be given in January

One of the most impactful and life changing programs we administer in Uganda is the goat distribution project.  In the project funds are raised for the Ugnadan NGO.  They purchase a healthy pregnant goat and give it to a widow or orphan selected by their tribal leader. They agree not to eat the goat, but to only sell or trade them.  This gives them a source of income.  Over a two or three year period they can accumulate a small herd.  They can also trade for a milk cow or a bull.  Many of the widows use the funds to pay for their children's eduacation.  Serve Uganda has helped to give away over 500 goats so far.

We would like to do another distribution in January.

Medical Clinic is ready for use!

Completed Medical Clinic
Completed Medical Clinic

The Medical Clinic in the Nakayot Village is ready for use!  In January a team from Oregon in the USA worked alongside the local villagers to finish the painting inside and out.  A group of villagers poured a cement slab for the outside waiting area which is under cover.  Then they built benches for the patients to sit on while they are waiting. The nurse's house is ready for painting, but it is the rainy season there now so the painting is on hold.  This clinic will made a huge impact on the physical well being of the comunity.  Thank you for your support.
