Project Supplies Still Needed!

Covid-19 has changed the way we live our lives and created more teenage mothers than there has ever been in the history of our country Kenya ,

Now more than ever we require the supplies which are equipment in order to ease our training especially in hairdressing , tailoring and cooking.

The recent reports about teenage motherhood in Kenya is alarming , over 50,000 teenage girls have become pregnant during the quarantine period /shut down in March  2020 which went on until August 2020, many households have been devasted by this news considering many parents have lost their jobs during the pandemic and there is alot of hopelessness both by the teen mothers and the parents

Community Focus Group train 100 girls project still requires supplies , this are blow dryers, hair dryers, cookers, fridges, tongs, hairpieces, weaves among others, this supplies help the facilitators and the girls learn fast because they are not working with theory but the actual products that are in use in a hair salon, a hotel or a taloring school.

Covid -19 Harsh Economic Times In Kenya

A few months ago, the daily nation in Kenya wrote a front page article the title was : What Shall we eat? It was a few months after the March country lockdown and Nairobi shut down, Many Kenyans were not going to work , they begun working from home and others who had to be physically present at work did not know what to do especially those that were running Small and medium bussinesses, the general idea is that many bussinessess and people have lost thousands of job and the general question has been what shall we eat?

Community Focus Group has sent cash transfers as well as bought food for street families ,elderly people , this has helped support some families for a week or so, the state of desparation in families is great and more needs to be done to ensure that families and mostly women and children do not sleep hungry.

What shall we eat? is the question that Community Focus Group hopes to help bring the solution to during this season of Covid -19 and we are making a difference on a weekly basis in the lives of street families and elderly people, What Shall they Eat?

Covid -19 and Climate Change

We are living in interesting times, when no one seems to be sure of anything, Covid-19 has disrupted our lives and our enviroment and climate , our economies have been forced to slow down because of the strict quarantine measures.

Covid -19 has impacted our climate in a very intriguing manner and many in our country can attest to this , it seems the lack of using public transport and economic activities reduced carbon emmissions and the enviroment got some rest for a while , which was very good , but how sustainable was this effect we will never tell.

Our project plans to plant at least 3000 trees by the end of 2020 and mostly in our Nairobi area, we also plan to organise 10 young enviroment and climate change advocates training and workshop to empower them with communication and other skills.
