Namaste Friends!

It is with great pleasure that we present you our new project progress report.

Journey Home Foundation (JHF) under the initiative of promoting women empowerment has been providing various kinds of training opportunities as requested by the girls.

Our recent program was held in various parts of rural Gorkha regarding breast cancer and uterus cancer issues. Many people in these region tend to ignore their reproductive health as well as breast cancer issues. The stigma around it plays a huge role towards the ignorance of such critical issues.

So, we, with the support from Dharche rural municipality and COHI international, conducted awareness programs regarding breast cancer & uterus cancer. Also, with that  we gave them ideas regarding maternal and reproductive health, personal hygiene & sanitation practices.

Looking back at 2019, we feel very proud of our works that we did. From helping girls & women to be self-reliant through skill development programs, helping people be aware about their reproductive health, especially women, to minimizing the instances of Gender equality and domestic violence though various vocational classes. All these activities would not have been possible without our well wishers and their support.

We hope and plan to do more in the upcoming year 2020.

We thank our supporters for motivating us to keep up with our good work. We hope to forever be blessed with your everlasting support

We heartily welcome your views, comments and queries regarding the work of JHF.

Wishing you a happy new year 2020

Cheers!

Namaste Friends!

It is with great pleasure that we present you our new project progress report.

Journey Home Foundation (JHF) under the initiative of promoting women empowerment has been providing various kinds of training opportunities as requested by the girls.

This time, JHF conducted a 2 day workshop on leadership & capacity development with the essence of promoting gender equality and women empowerment. The workshop was held at Sorakhutte, Kathmandu. The workshop was inaugarated by chairman of Ward no. 16, Kathmandu.

This 2- day workshop was aimed at :

1. Making the related stakeholders of ward no.16, Kathmandu on their roles for development.

2. Making women aware about their importance in developmental activities.

3. Making women reponsible towards social development, from their home to society as a whole.

4. Encourage for better skill development to compensate for lack of skilled manpower. etc.

This program was a success with a good number of participants. We had hoped that it would be a very reactive session and it was a pretty good one as well. The participants contributed in all the discussion sessions etc. to make the workshop more better.

We hope that from this project we have atleast gave them an idea about the essence of the workshop was about and the importance of what they have learnt from there. Also, we think that from this session they can contribute towards a sustainable development of the nation with the essence of gender equality.

We thank our supporters for motivating us to keep up with our good work. We hope to forever be blessed with your everlasting support

We heartily welcome your views, comments and queries regarding the work of JHF.

Cheers!

Namaste Friends!

It is with great pleasure that we present you our new project progress report.

Journey Home Foundation (JHF) under the initiative of promoting women empowerment has been providing various kinds of training opportunities as requested by the girls. JHF from the early stage of initiation has been giving out tailoring and sewing training opportunities to women and girls from rural areas. This report here is from few of our alumni.

They had received sewing & tailoring from JHF. They had full support from JHF to develop their skills regarding sewing and tailoring. They learned with full dedication and excelled in their work. Currently, they have travelled back to their villages and opened a small shop of their own.

A small business of their own has helped them become independent and support the family on their own. With the start of a boarding school in the village, there has been a huge demand for school dresses to be made, which have turned out to be a lucrative deal for them as there are only a handful of skilled tailor there. Before, tailors from far off neighboring villages came to the village and provided with sewing and tailoring services but with the fresh skilled learned and sewing machine provided by JHF, there has been no need of a distant tailor to come in the village.

These girls, who have learned from JHF, have also started teaching other girls who are interested in sewing in the village locally. They support these girls and we also support them as much as possible. And with that, with the change in time, we are expanding the scope of training for women empowerment, from sewing training  to technical education.

We thank our supporters for motivating us to keep up with our good work. We hope to forever be blessed with your everlasting support

We heartily welcome your views, comments and queries regarding the work of JHF.

Cheers!
