Namaste Friends!

It is with great pleasure that we present you with our new project progress report.

Journey Home Foundation (JHF) under the initiative of of promoting gender equality and women empowerment has been providing various kinds of training opportunities to girls as requested by them.

Although the risk of Corona virus has been reeling all over, Nepal has relaxed its lockdown and restriction formalities. With this, the normal lives have been resumed to some extent. But tourism in Nepal has been hardest hit. Tourism in Nepal is mostly international based but with Covid - 19 that has not been possible. But, domestic tourism has seen quite a boom in Nepal in current context as many places has seen quite a huge influx of domestic tourists compared to minimal number in previous years.

With this in mind, JHF Nepal initiated a training camp where people, especially women, were provided basic cooking training and hospitality knowledge ( about home-stay). This training is the first training conducted by JHF since the covid-19 and lockdown in Nepal. This training was organized in cooperation in the local government and JHF. After this training, the participants will head back to their respective villages and start their own small venture in contributing in local tourism as well as domestic tourism.

Also, with the global pandemic of Corona virus affecting the world, we would urge everyone to stay safe and practice social distancing to avoid the spread of this deadly disease.

Stay Safe

Cheers!

Namaste Friends!

It is with great pleasure that we present you with our new project progress report.

We hope all of you are doing well during this tough situation that has arisen due to the global pandemic of the Corona Virus. The entire world and its economy has suffered a great shock due to global lockdowns being in effect which has affected lives everywhere. With almost 120 days long nation wide lockdown, Nepal`s economy also faced a huge shock with the most hard hit being the daily wage workers and general labours who relied on day to day work for their sustainability.

JHF Nepal during the last few months of nation wide lockdown in Nepal utilized its resources away from its training programs to help around 200-250 families with basic food relief distribution. By encouraging local praticipation and small donations from various generous donors we were able to distribute food relief to those who were in need of the most. The food relief package included items such 25-30kgs sack of rice, 1kg pack of salt, 1 ltr. of cooking oil, lentils and potatoes. The families to whom these relief were distributed were mostly daily wage workers and seasonal tourism workers. Although not much, but we can assure you that this small help did a great help on minimizing the impact of the lockdown that took place.

Duties come second, being human becomes our first duty. So, until the situation becomes normal, JHF Nepal will be mobilizing its resources to help those in need with food relief package and other possible humanitarian aid assistance.

We thank our supporters for motivating us to keep up with our good work. We hope to forever be blessed with your everlasting support.

Also, with the global pandemic of Corona virus affecting the world, we would urge everyone to stay safe and practice social distancing to avoid the spread of this deadly disease.

Stay Safe

Cheers!
