Mission

The House of the Historic Foundation's purpose is to protect, preserve, maintain, and restore the House of the Temple located in Washington, D.C. The House of the Temple serves as the headquarters for the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction, U.S.A. Located within the House of the Temple are the museum, archives, and library. The museum has been open to the public since 1915 and houses many unique and important exhibits. These artifacts and important documents have been, and will always be, open and free to the public.
