On behalf of the URBAN REFUGEES team, we are thrilled to share that our upcoming Uganda program--an incubation project in Kampala--is set to start next month! Following the Urban Refugees incubation model, our team will partner with refugee leaders to build their capacity to support their community; this time, we will be working with an organization led by Sudanese refugee women. The project team is ready to go, and our new project manager, Jessica, recently visited with the refugee leaders to discuss our upcoming partnership. We look forward to sharing more updates as our work gets underway! As always, we are deeply grateful for your support of our work--it would not be possible without you.

Thank You to Our Donors
By Adiel Suarez-Murias - URBAN REFUGEES March Update
URBAN REFUGEES staff is deeply grateful to our donors for their continued support. The funds from this campaign mean so much to us, and will help our organization further our work, collaborating with refugees in cities to help rebuild their lives in sustainable ways. While the global refugee crisis continues to grow, the tide is beginning to shift: as international awareness grows of the critical role that refugee-led organizations can (and should) play in development efforts. Our work has never been more important than it is today.
URBAN REFUGEES' next incubation project will begin in Uganda this summer, building on the success of our pilot collaborations in Malaysia. We are in the final stages of planning for this next endeavor and look forward to launching soon. This work would not be possible without the support of our community of donors, and we look forward to sharing more updates with you all very soon. In the meantime, we invite you to visit our website for more.

Thanks for your support
By Sonia Ben Ali - Director
Many thanks for your donation to the Somali refugee community of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The funds raised will be transfered to the community leaders for them to continue the woman tailoring project they were able to launch thanks to donations from local sources. Indeed, the funds raised on Global Giving were insufficient to create the activity and the community leaders were able to attract other resources in order to launch their project. This is a brillant confirmation of the efficiency of the trainings we delivered to them on fundraising strategy.
Your donations will thus complement their effort and enable them to carry on their support for women to generate income - and for this we thank you a lot.
