The mission of Women's Global Empowerment Fund is to reach poor and underserved women in northern Uganda thru microfinance loans and educational programs, creating opportunities while strengthening families and communities. Our strategy is to provide women with the framesork necessary to create viable opportunities for themselves and their families. Our goal is poverty reduction, human security enhancement & women's empowerment.
Help 200 women in northern Uganda learn to read
When a woman learns to read and write, her whole world opens up! Many of our clients are formerly abducted child soldiers, victims of sexual terrorism and horrific violence and poverty, but are now recovering and rebuildng their lives. Microfinance & Empowerment Programs In Gulu
In 2013, Women's Global Empowerment Fund (WGEF) continues to provides microfinance and educational opportunities to women recovering from brutal violence and poverty northern Uganda. Our goal is poverty alleviation, increased human and food security and women's empowerment. Our "credit-plus" model focuses on three areas in addition to economic development: literacy, leadership and health. Provide Dental Care to Families in Gulu, N. Uganda

Healthy Periods Initiative - improving health
Just imagine attending school without toilets or drinking water. Imagine attending a school with a single latrine for all the students, or that the latrine is smelly, with no toilet paper and the door no longer closes. Just imagine attending one of these schools when you have your period. The Healthy Period Initiative aims to address inequality and health challenges associated with menstrual health while providing a valuable social enterprise for WGEG clients. project reportread updates from the field
