Fundacion Clara Luna

Clara Luna is a non-profit organization committed to supporting the local community through education-based recreational programming for all ages. At Clara Luna we believe that every individual has an incredible amount of potential. We work hard to support the community in taking their own steps towards development and try to inspire each individual to reach their goals by providing a safe space and supportive environment that sees them as unique, capable, and worthy.
GLOW Camp

The goal of GLOW camp is to initiate change and impact on a group of young girls (age 13-18) who grow up in a culture where women's opportunities and chances for success are severely compromised. During a four day overnight camp the girls will have the opportunity to learn, among other topics, self-esteem, defining gender roles and overcoming challenges that confront Ecuadorian women, development of healthy relationships, sexual education, and taking on leadership roles.
Earthquake Relief for Children in Shelters

On April 16, 2016 a 7.8 Earthquake hit the coast of Ecuador. The large cities of the coast suffered extensive damage and the communities surrounding these cities even more. Many families were displaced, an estimated number of people in shelter camps is around 22,000 people. People living in these shelters have had their whole disrupted. Clara Luna hopes to lessen the burden of the children living in these shelters by providing kids programs and activities in the shelters.
Clubs at Clara Luna

There are four clubs at Clara Luna; kids, youth, reading, and GLOW club, which engage youth in themes about environment, health, art, leadership, and reading. Clara Luna inspires youth in Puerto Lopez through these clubs in a creative and educational space. With the donations, Clara Luna will be able to host these clubs for a year. project reportread updates from the field
