Covid is done!? Rebuilding can start

Loving them who need it the most
Loving them who need it the most

The good news in Colombia is that the current Covid wave is over! The number of new infections are at the lowest level in over a year! Praise God

HOWEVER, the economy has not recovered at the same rate, poverty level is still in at 48%, which is the highest it has been in 10-15 years. Your generosity has helped the families of Conviventia ride out the Covid storm, and now they are ready to start rebuilding their lives. Please continue your support in prayers, service and generosity so the precious people of Colombia can get a head start in the continual effort of transforming their precious lives out of poverty.

Life strikes, but good people come to the rescue

Life has given a serious blow to Cartagena area! The main source of income is the tourist industry. However, due to floods, and now the Delta variant of Covid, the tourists are not coming back any time soon.

Your generosity has made an impact! Due to your response, Conviventia has been able to help clean up after the floods and are now assisting in contribute food rations to the most vulnerable people in the region. The young are getting back in school and families are being helped in finding alternate source of income.

From bad to worse situation in Colombia

Some actors calls for revolution and not peace
Some actors calls for revolution and not peace

Many of us have heard about the worsening situation in India due to new COVID strains. Similarly, the situation in Colombia is worsening as well. COVID numbers growing exponentially, social unrest, protests, and increased violence has shut down the economy even harder than before. Poverty rate has now grown to cover half the population of Colombia. Meaning half the population don’t know when they are going to be able to eat today or not.

Conviventia is an island of hope and love in a desperate situation. Your generosity has enabled us to provide food, education, and income generation to almost eleven thousand people over the last year. One dollar a day feeds a family of 4 in Colombia, two dollars a day provides education and food, and gives a sense of normality in a broken world.

Keep praying for peace to the people, wisdom to the leaders, and for foreign actors to stop agitating violence in a very fragile system.

Thanks, and many blessings to our faithful friends and donors.
