Covid19 support

Warm greetings from VETNGO

The pandemic has had a disruptive effect on the traditional methods of social activities, entrepreneurship and planning avenues to impart awareness and education.

Our Social Workers have been focussed on staying connected to their projects and social initiatives, while also undertaking certain relief work and counselling youth and women and local leaders as a positive contribution to the affected families, in addition to undertaking distribution of essentials and hygiene necessities

In this COVID situation, the important connect that we mainly provide to citizens with marginal means of livelihood is primarily through the provision of basic necessities.  VETNGO  distributed groceries in severely affected communities. It was a big relief for those who were dependant on their daily wages and didn’t have any savings in their banks.

Another main problem many families are facing now is mental stress. All members locked inside, no work, no money, no school … the stress on women running their families in small budget is beyond imagination. We try different methods to keep these women engaged and get expert help whenever necessary through counselling sessions and motivational programs. Our social workers reach out to them on a regular basis.

Thank you for supporting us so far. We request your generous support for this new project we have undertaken.

Education in Lockdown

Dear Patrons,

Thank you so much for your continued interest and support to VET. We are indeed overwhelmed by your support, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We would like to update you on the further steps that we have taken to get the education going for the Indian rural children. While our schools are currently closed, we have introduced new ways of reaching out to the students and the parents, and continuing to educate the children during the coronavirus lockdown. Please find below a couple of steps that we have taken, in this report.

Home Schooling

VET has launched home learning programs to engage students and teachers. Those home–based activities which find favour among pupils and academicians are being implemented on a larger scale. Projects which do not achieve the desired results are
being modified to improve acceptability.

Classrooms on Whatsapp

The lockdown has blurred the distinction between homework and classwork for the students. We have overcome the hurdle posed by the pandemic by sending lessons via WhatsApp groups. Our teachers prepare short audio/video notes and post them on the groups. Students submit the completed assignments in the same groups. A record of students’ responses is also being maintained.

To help students who need extra attention to catch up with their classmates the Central Academic Team sends worksheets on subjects like Tamil, English and Mathematics.

We hope that you are excited like us as we continue to educate the children in spite of the lockdown. We are continually monitoring the situations in the communities that we serve in through Whatsapp feedback from parents and communicating through the community leaders. We will keep you updated on the happenings.

Thank you again for your support, and look forward for your continued engagement and support! Please feel free to write to us in case if you have questions, or if you would like to help us in any ways possible.

This distribution will continue in another 5more places. This is a timely support to Leprosy affected to save them from hunger.

In this difficult situation, we are standing with our Neglected elders, children and community. Still we conduct door to door  motivation was organized by VETNGO India, in which we motivated to wear cloth-made masks, hygiene, Precautions, keeping social distancing and staying at home. Because of our awareness program, our beneficiaries are safe.

This provision play key role to stop the starvation and give confidence that there is someone to help them in critical COVID-19 crisis.
